    Leap Fears!

Well loads of girls on her team are having the same issue. Handstands they are fine with, cartwheels, dismounts, turns, they are fine with that, but not leaps.

    Leap Fears!

Thing is, the coach is quite impatient. She worked these 2 days on the low beams and now expects them to be huge on the high beam. She isnt real big on "becoming comfortable" with the skill, she just expects her (and everyone else) to do them automatically

Is a double twisted yurchenko vault the same

Nope! An Amanar is a 2 1/2 twisting yurchenko. So it is a double twisted with an extra half twist. And no question is stupid :)

    Straight arm front hips

I am one of those super involved gym moms on my daughters' gymnastics teams. Some of the l4s&5s are struggling with getting their front hips with straight arms. Any drills or tips i could share with the team?

    Leap Fears!

One of my daughters is doing level 4 this year, but is having really bad leap fears. She will do them good on a low beam but once she goes on a high beam her leap has almost no air time. It is hard to explain but she basicall steps and slides that foot back and replaces it with the other one...

    A little bit of bragging:)

I have loads of bragging for each one of my fantastical little daughters right now! Here goes: Kaddie- Bars: Straight arm and leg kip and longhang kip, and a straight arm front hip! Vault: Handstand flatback with a block and two extra 8 inch mats! (Upgrade from the previous 1 mat with no block)...

    My coach friend

The coach's girls normally score between 36-37.5ish. Problems are: Bars-Absolutely refuses to turn hand for piroutte. She wont even do it on the floor with spot, or from a dead hang on the bar. Beam- Is afraid to connect skills while there is a flight involved. This could probably be fixed with...

    My coach friend

I am posting this for my coach friend who does not have a chalkbucket profile. He has a level 7 who did exceptionally well this season. At states she got: Vault: 9.65 Bars: 9.705 Beam: 9.4 and Floor: 9.6 with an all around of 38.355. She however cannot seem to grab a hold of any level 8 skills...

    Annabelle and level 5

My little 6 year old will compete level 5 this fall season! Quick Q: She turns 7 in May so she can compete level 5 starting in September, right? Anyways this little squirt has conquered kips, dive rolls, front handsprings, two back handsprings after the roundoff and cartwheels on the beam and...

A little freaked over the high bar.

My newly level 7 gymmie wont do her cast handstands on the high bars. She was fine in level 5 but now the whole hanstand thing gives her the creeps. This is wierd because she loves them on the low bar and holds them. She doesnt even like giants on them anymore because, get this, when she reaches...
