My DD is starting xcel platinum next week and this will be her first practice outside of high school gym. What should she expect? How does practice normally run?
 
It varies widely from gym to gym. Our platinums practice twice a week for 2 hours 45 minutes, with an optional third day (only 3 of them currently take that option, out of 15). They start with a half hour of bar conditioning and 15 minutes of stretching before moving into the events. They typically do all events each day, for about a half hour, right now focusing on basics and drills for summer upgrades.

Practice would normally run by starting with a warmup, then going through events, maybe taking breaks, and strength at the end of practice. It also could differ depending on which gym, but make sure it has a positive feeling and environment. The gym will be slightly different with more equipment and could possibly be equipped with better coaching.
