Hello, I wanted to say that my gym kicks gymnast out if they repeat levels too many times. For ex. If someone repeats Xcel silver twice or Xcel gold three times and till can’t move up, they get sent to rec. I was wondering if most gyms do this?

It depends. We've had kids in high school do three years of silver and not learn any new skills so we do recommend our high school class at that point.

Pretty typical at lower levels. If they’re not getting new skills it doesn’t make sense to pay the money or put in the time on team. They can enjoy doing the skills they like, but if your not moving up levels to get to at least about level 5/6 skills it really isn’t worth it to be on team.

A lot of gyms also have limited space on their teams. If a gymnast hasn't made any progress after 3 years in a lower level it makes sense to move them to the rec program.

We have had some girls move down levels (but that was more of they started training a higher level, but didnt show up to many practices or thought it was safer to stay in their old level)
