A squat on for vault is basically a run jump onto the table in the exact position a girl would do a squat on on bars and then jump off as quickly as possible. Eventually the goal is to do this so quickly and with such a shoulder block that they miss their feet so only their hands touch.

Many people forget that you actually have to hit the vault table hard to be a good high level vaulter. The squat on teaches that. The L3/4 vaults have really done a number on blocking. Hitting that soft mat all the time makes it hard to learn to block.

Agree with that 100%....that was the hardest thing for my DD to "get" when she moved to L5. She's L6 now and still doesn't have a great block, but it's getting there. She's bigger and stronger now, so that helps quite a bit (just turned 9).

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
