Hi! New team mom here. Do they have to compete the same level all year? for example her first meet she is competing silver. Will she be able to compete gold on other meets if she is able to get the requirements? Provided her coach is ok with that.

this makes sense! thank you!Usually that is what happens, and this year gold is now considered entry level so they don't have to score out of silver like they had to in the past. We did just have two who were DP level 4 last year and needed to go to one meet to score out of gold in order to move to platinum, but they have known since this summer that platinum was the plan. Meet registrations are usually done pretty far in advance and switching the level after the fact is not always an option. There are a ton of upgrades for gold that would be allowed in silver and there aren't that many Xcel levels so there isn't usually a huge reason to rush things.
Yes, she would be allowed to compete gold later, but a lot of states do have a 'declaration date' I know NY's is in February, where she would have to decide whether she's doing silver or gold.
