The thing is according to the doctors based on my conditions and age, I shouldn't be able to walk let alone do gymnastics. And with my rapid decline currently, I am expected to be in a wheelchair by the end of high school. I really really want to try and stay in gymnastics for as long as I can. Swimming is definitely something I would consider switching to. Also speech team, scholastic bowl, math team, and key club.
If I may ask, what form of EDS do you have? I think it is a personal situation and you should really talk to your coaches about what they think of your decision, in an attempt to be as unbiased as possible. If you do decide to quit, because you love the sport so much, coaching is a really great idea!

I have hypermobile EDS. I also have POTS and possible diagnoses of MCAS and gastroparesis. I could coach the thing is I don't have the transportation.

I don’t compete and only know pretty basic gymnastics, but if you did quit I’d suggest you take up dance, which you could still compete in if you’d want to. It requires strength and flexibility and gives you a good workout, without being overly taxing on your body, in contrast to hard tumbling passes . Not mention dance is literal Art. If you did compete in it, you’d have a built in advantage from knowing acro moves aerials which are used a lot in contemporary dance.

If your body is telling you it’s had enough, maybe it has. Gymnastics is amazing, but not worth injuring yourself over. Like you said, coaching is also an option. I hope you make the best choice for yourself!

I’m assuming what you mean by this is you can’t drive. Maybe wait until you get your license, or maybe have one of your parents drive you?
My parents are divorced, I don't speak to my father. I should get my license spring of 2024. I might try high school bars specialist.
