USAIGC and XCEL are different. Bronze is the fist level of XCEL, which is equivalent to level 2. Whereas USAIGC goes Copper 1, Copper 2, Bronze. So Bronze is, I believe more in line with level 4/5.
We moved across the country from a gym we loved, to a new gym. My daughter was at the new gym for a few months when the coach asked to speak to me before class. She had absolutely nothing nice to say about my daughter, staying she “had no skills,” was not progressing, and was a “danger to the...
Can you ask to be evaluated? We recently moved across the country and I specifically asked for my daughter to be evaluated for the advanced class after 2 rec classes.
Just moved from that area and had to take the 405 north most nights of the week. You’d be heading south though, where the traffic isn’t has heavy at night time.
I love LB airport as you’re basically off the plane and out of the airport in minutes. John Wayne isn’t a huge airport, but not as...
The issue is that it is victim shaming. She doesn’t know whether or not what was said is false or not, but her post is essentially calling those who came out liars. She’s not saying hey, I support my coach or hey, I’ve only had a good experience.
The issue with victim shaming is it makes...
But that's part of my point. Having the no parents policy sets them up to be groomed as a "what happens in the gym stays in the gym" type of situation. Also, as previously mentioned, I was abused sexually for years as a child by my uncle. The first thing he always said when he was done was...
This is 100% correct. I used to have a prescription for ambien in college. Often, is take one, fall asleep and 10 minutes later, wake up and take another one forgetting that I'd already had. I'd then walk the halls takings jibberish and swaying all over. I'd often knock on friends doors and...
I'm hosting the thread right now, but I have one major question. As a victim myself of childhood sexual assault for years, my biggest concern for my own child is to be abused. That being said, I am no where hear a helicopter parent. However, how do parents so easily trust the "no parents...
@josie55 I'll try to keep updated. She's only 2 right now, so not too much exciting stuff going on right now. She has started trying to do straddle handstands (don't even know where she got them from) on and off push up parrelettes (idk what to call them) and can almost do a press handstand...
I feel like you're practically talking about my kiddo. Although, she's only 2.5. She's not as advanced as you mentioned, but I wouldn't be shocked if she is by that age. She goes to class 3x a week. 2 mom and me and 1 private. The groups are for her sensory needs. She has a lot less...
I know it wasn't directed at me, but I saw a video clip on FB or IG today of some girls doing a gymnastics demonstration. There were about 10+ girls and they had some mats out on a stage. They had them walking across the stage in handstands one girl coming from each direction at a time. That...
I used to be an office manager and instructor in Tae Kwon Do for over 10 years.
I agree with needing a good FB and website. Along with that, IG is becoming important too. Especially since you can run ads on it now. I'd google search your school and see if it easily pops up, also, when...
I've known about TOPS and have read up on it and looked at the requirements long before I even had my daughter. So I guess it just dawned on me that there is no correlation between it and the levels. I'm wondering though, do the higher skills needed at the older ages not correlate with higher...
