Parents Making a financial decision about whether to continue

My daughter is just graduating High School as a Level 9. She was sadly injured for a season and missed the recruitment selection but we are still hoping for try outs at college, because she has the necessary skills. I would say that the focus and determination that is provided by gymnastics...

WAG Moving from Xcel to DP

My daughter moved from Xcel Platinum to JO Level 6. Diamond therefore should be fine.

Parents Need to vent a little

Wow! I really don’t understand why you would push a 9 year old into Level 10. Think how many years she will be at that Level. Furthermore their bodies are developing and this level of training can’t be good for growth plates and injuries surely!

What's your best guess at what next season will look like?

I’m in Manhattan which is Low risk in comparison to the rest of New York State. I cannot speculate on what’s going to happen, but my feeling is that if Team can get back to the gym for training, there maybe a way to social distance and be over zealous about cleanliness and this could happen...

    Parents Dadgumit!!

Parents How to prepare 5 year old for first meet

There are nerves at any level of the competition and the main thing is to be supportive. If you’re smiling encouragement from the sidelines it really helps. The competition at this level is really cute and not too challenging. She should do fine. I would agree with one of the other replies...

WAG Update: tomorrow is her last day (Perthes disease)

I am so sorry to hear this. I can only imagine how emotional this is for you both. There will be other things though. A friend now in her 50’s had two hip replacements in her 20’s due to a similar diagnosis. She’s never looked back, she became a great swimmer before the operation and now ski’s...

    Scoliosis Brace

I’m the Mom of a L7 gymnast, who has just turned 13. We knew that she had some scoliosis last year and in a recent check up, she has been asked to wear a back brace for a year to stop the curvature increasing. She will obviously take it off for gymnastics practices and competitions. This is...
