In my opinion, roundoff back tuck is WAY easier than roundoff back handspring back tuck. I competed a roundoff back pike before I got my roundoff back handspring back tuck. Roundoff back tucks don't require as much power and are a lot easier to get hight in.
For me, I see front pikes as a completely different skill from front tucks. The entry is the same, but with a front pike you want to get more hight because opening out of the flip takes longer than for a tuck. You don't want to tuck at all when it comes to a pike, pretty much just look up...
For kips, practice your pike stretches with tight legs and pointed toes, this will help keep you from developing a habit of bent legged kips (worst thing ever.) I you have a pvc pipe or something like that, you can practice the motion of a kip while in a pike, hold the pipe and slide it up your...
With your front walkover, try something new every time you try it, take your coaches corrections and think about them or ask your coach what you can do to get better! Your coach is there to help you succeed, so don't be scared to ask how you can improve!
Definitely very shady that no price was given, they should give you a list with all the gear and the prices in advance. My comp leo was $300 and has been for many years, even when I switched gyms, so $500+ seems like it is really overpriced. My current comp leo is custom and was still $300
Make the most of your time there! Know what skills you want to get and be focused on your goals while at practice. You could also do some basic strength training at home to work towards those skills. Also enjoy yourself! Have fun!
Try leaning back when you punch, just like on vault when you lean back a little when you punch to go up and forward, same thing with a front tuck. When you punch try looking up a bit, this will help you lean back. You can also use your arms to help launch you by lifting them to be behind your...
I also have ADHD and have dealt with the same thing. I am not over medicated, but I have done the "sleep tumbling" many times. I will be tumbling and it is like my brain resets and forgets everything that is happening in that moment, and fall in the middle of a tumbling pass. I will also be...
