My daughter is entering level 5 gymnastic. She is a lefty on everything except her cartwheel. I noticed that on the compulsory beam routine for level 5, there is a heel-snap-turn, then they step with the bent leg and then kick up the back leg to begin the cartwheel. She would be kicking up her left leg but that is not her cartwheel leg. Is this something that needs to be corrected? Does she need to learn a left leg cartwheel on the beam? Is it a deduction if she doesn't take the step and does her right leg cartwheel?
