      Hi my family will be relocating to South Korea from the USA. We are a military family and our 5 year old daughter is on an extremely intense developmental team. I would like her to still train and I know she would be so sad if she couldn't. Do you have any resources to pass along that may help? I would greatly appreciate any help you could provide.       i'm having a tough time getting an accurate diagnosis for my dd's elbow injury. I have xrays and would love a second (or third!) opinion from a doctor that has experience with gymnasts. Can you recommend anyone I could send her xrays to? Thanks!!

        is that Pete spotting her? she's throwing her head a bit. her eyes are closed. i can tell by the landing. tell her to "blink" her eyes when she feels it's ready to land.

      Hey Dunno - I've started working my full again since my ACL injury last year. Now that I'm twisting in the right direction, I should get it soon...that is if I can really commit to it. Here is a video from the other night. I know that I'm not twisting soon enough, but I'm really scared. The other issue is that sometimes I land my roundoff's with my knee straight and it sends a bolt of lightning up my knee. I never used to do that before I tore my ACL. I don't know why it's happening but it is really scary and my knee always hurts for days after heavy tumbling. Not quite sure why I'm sending this note to you, but since you were the one who got me my full to begin with I thought you'd might be interested in my progress.

      You seem to know quite a bit about the Developmental Training Camps. I was wondering if you might tell me what might make the national team staff invite a child to camp and what they might say to you if they are disappointed?

      to gymnast22...sorry to you too as i did not see these messages until now. i am now old. i am a coach and club owner. and i still play a little bit when my older body is not swearing at me. lol.

      Finding the light. I decided that I can't go around crying all day. Here is my plan. Remember, I'm 41 so it isn't like I need to get back to the gym for competitions or anything like that. I don't see myself twisting again. We don't have a pit in our gym. There is one about 30 minutes away. I might go there once in a while for their adult class. At our gym, I'm going to focus on bars. Bars has been difficult for me because I have bad shoulders too! I am going to resistance band the heck out of them while I'm doing PT for my knee. Do you know of anything I can do to toughen up my hands? I really don't like using grips.

    I add nothing to the conversation as with most of my replies but feel that i must reply to every thread. and although i tend to be somewhat out there sometimes, i try not to make people feel aghast all the time. ;)
