I only discovered yesterday that my gym's oldest competitor is not 43, but a different guy aged 64! I have said on here before: I will be the 80+ year old still doing gymnastics.

I absolutely applaud that. It can be hard to feel like the other things about you are part of you too. For many, and honestly for me, they are a gymnast, who happens to be everything else. I will admit that this happened in my case through time. The longer I was a gymnast, the more it became me.

What about a strapless bra? I'm sure you could find one that works.

I decided to make a spin-off thread from one I saw that kind of raised something that I really think about a lot. Gymnastics really becomes a part of your identity, or your child's identity. I don't know how I would define myself without it. I have other passions that I want to pursue, but...

I'm surprised that rec for so many people isn't focused on skills. my gym's rec program includes light conditioning, 4 circuits on different apparatus, sometimes incorporating tramp and acro, but mostly artistic. Is that uncommon?

Since it's Xcel it'd be hard to pinpoint it. Ask her what her routines are. Maybe a level 4 AU? Again, she may be a little below or above, but that's maybe the average.

Pretty sure Arabians count as a forward skill because they are mostly forward. Double Arabians count as forward skills, so I'm sure it would be the same.
