Parents 5 year olds self esteem. Opinions please!

I could not imagine when my DD was 5 her having enough attention span and determination to last 9 hours a week. There is such a huge difference in maturity between the ages of 5 and 8 that occurs. So I agree that having standards will be difficult given the maturity differences between the ages...

    Parents Switching Gyms

Yes we had to leave my DDs rec gym when she made team at her current gym. It was sad, but they didn’t have any competition programs and it turned out to be a huge blessing. She’s made lifetime friends she never would have known otherwise. Good luck to you.

Yes! This! Same issue we have at our gym.

    Parents L6 beam requirements

The round off probably counted for the requirement because it is a flight skill. Had it been something like a cartwheel or BWO that wouldn’t have counted. My DD did a BWO- CW for her series last year, they just cautioned it had to flow to be counted as a series.

Parents new gym parent looking for advice one what to expect

Sell a kidney and learn to budget and be frugal because that’ll come in handy once the big fees start coming! LOL j/k sorta For me one of the best things I did was learn the sport so I could understand what I was watching at meets. Understanding how they score (even if it’s subjective) can be...

    Parents Bars skills

I was curious about the DFG too! Lol makes total sense. Clear hip was a nemesis for my gymnast also. I was not aware of the other options! Thanks for sharing those.

    Parents Travelling to meets

We have traveled as Xcel with our optionals and it has made for amazing memories and experiences for my daughter. I would say if you have the means to go, you should. It was such a great experience for her to go away with teammates and also participate in bigger meets away from our home area.

Parents Daughter level 4 - need advice

I agree with others, give her time to rest and heal and when she’s ready see about putting her back in. She can keep up with light conditioning as she’s able at home. Giving her time to evaluate if she misses gym May be what helps her overcome the fears and anxiety and will also give her time to...

Parents "How to Discuss Nutrition and the Body with your Daughter"

My DD just attended a camp and they had a rotation for nutrition. I have tried to encourage my daughter to fuel her body with the appropriate food for an athlete of her caliber but she’s a preteen and knows all. She did listen closely at camp and I was super grateful. Their coaches often discuss...

    Parents Level 5 Questions

Good luck to your DD. That full turn is a killer, even for the elite girls at times.

    WAG Tryout for JO Compulsory

Good luck in your decision on what to do. And what a commendable thing to sell things you are willing to sacrifice for your kids. I’m sure others will disagree, but I see this with my siblings all the time, they don’t have money for their kids to do activities, but have money for things like you...

    Parents She Did It!!

Our gym would be one of those we aren’t happy about it, but on the upside we don’t have to pay choreography fees for level 6.

    Parents Summer vacations & missing

Hello. The fun in having a young teenage daughter. My boys play football and are not allowed to miss any practices all summer and it sucks. If they do miss they owe consequences and it can jeopardize their spot in the team. So we are used to the vacations being affected, or sucks. I agree with...
