    WAG Cast handstand

Not a 100% sure but from context, I think you do a cast and straddle on the bar (squat on but in straddle)

    Gymnasts Amazing practice

Gymnastics has been alright overall. Meet season was worse than expected. I don't know why but I do so much worse at meets than at practice. I only had one meet in the entire season that I hit all my routines. Actually not even that because I hit my feet on the floor on bars but it was still a...

    Gymnasts Amazing practice

Wow, we're kinda opposites. I like vault bars beam floor. Or floor vault bars beam. I'm very shakey and nervous at the start so I like beam to be near the end. Ooh this is a cool routine! Lowkey don't think I'd have the endurance for this. Im so happy for you! I remember you posting about...

    Injury Herniated Disc

I've personally just completely eliminated back walkovers and front walkovers from practice. So glad my gym allows us the flexibility to do this. I've also been trying to learn proper core bracing and I try my best to go easier when I feel the slightest bit of pain in my back (you need to...

    Gymnasts Amazing practice

Hey! Great jobbb on your meet, I'm so proud of you!!! Yes I know its hard to deal with injustice. You have more life experience than me so you'd know how to deal with this better but here's my thoughts: You know you did well. Be proud of that, in your books, you won. Your only competitor is you...

WAG How many hours do you train per week for Xcel?

At my gym, I think its 9 hours for silver (not sure), and 12 for both gold and platinum. No diamonds currently but when there were, they did 16 hours. I don't know about bronze.

Gymnasts I'm always getting rips on bars. Any suggestions?

If you don't use grips, use tape grips when you're healing from a rip and have to do bars. If you do use grips, you can put the tape grip and wear normal grips over that.

    Gymnasts Level 7 back pass

You don't need it but it may be because 1. To get ready for higher levels where 3 passes may be necessary 2. They wanna compete their full but they don't have a front layout. 3. Something else

    Gymnasts Level 7 back pass

    Round off layout works

    Gymnasts Level 7 back pass

Aren't round offs/back handsprings flight? So RO Back full and RO BHS back full would also fulfill requirements (just curious - I'm not super technical with requirements)

    Gymnasts Level 7 back pass

You need a layout with no twists in 7. It could be either front or back. So if you have your front layout, you could still compete your full.

    WAG Uneven Bars

Oh wow, thats less than 2 years. And this is a level 7 skill. That's very fast progress! Definitely will improve with time (as do almost all things). I'd say its kinda common, I have a couple teammates who do it. At meets though, most have straight arms. But don't worry, keep working on it -...

In terms of scoring, no. Not different. Straddle is easier for most gymnasts though.

    WAG level 8 gymnastics requirements

A level 8 at my gym does round off half punch front and front tuck + front pike. She gets her 10 SV with that, I think.

    WAG Level 8 beam requirements

Unrelated to the discussion but wow! You do know a lot as a parent. My parents barely know what a round off is lol, let alone As and Bs. My dad even forgets the names of the events 😭😂
