    Parents Home equipment

Our gym frowns upon this. However, some parent bought the beans, bars, and mats. We do not. My daughter has a pull up bar and air track. The only reason we got the air track was during quarantine. As others have said one they get older and higher levels they will not be able to use that...

    Parents Posting of Scores

Hi All, I have a quick question. We had our first sectional on Saturday and the scores are not posted on any website. I did contact the host gym with no response. Just curious if anyone has heard of them not posting scores. Really missing Beyond the Scores. I used to save them for her through...

    Parents Vault troubles

Vault was never great when my daughter was level 3. She would switch her hurdle and slow down closer to the spring board. As others have said it’s a process. Once the vault table was introduced we had other issue. Try to be encouraging as it was frustrating for myDD

    Parents Do you record meets?

My husband used to. However, my daughter prefers if we do not. IF she see us taping her it makes her more nervous especially at small meets where she can see us. Occasionally I will ask another mom to tape her if she cannot see them.

    WAG Valeri Liukin investigation

This is so sad on so many levels. The mental abuse these young girls have faced is awful. I think gymnastics is more than just winning. Link one likes it’s be put down or berated. However, this is the culture that they are Accustomed to and truthfully the whole gymnastics culture needs to...

Parents What is Your Child's Favorite Event?

My DD favorite it bars. Not sure why. Least favorite is floor. Not a dancer at all and not a strong tumbler.

    Parents Struggling level 6 gymnast

Gymnastics is a tough sport! My advice is if your daughter loves it I would let her continue. It’s really not about the medals and placement. It’s about pushing yourself to try new skills. I personally was not a gymnast , but I impressed that all these girls try to do their best every practice...

    ChalkBucket Is Secret?!?!

I share the site with a gym moms. I am more introverted to begin with so I personally feel more comfortable searching for responses to questions than talking to another parent. I do talk over stuff with parents I feel comfortable with. At our gym super competitive parents. I am sure they know...

Parents Gymnast obsessed with staying small.

No, they can bring in treats for birthdays and special occasions. They have never discussed with parents about diet.

Parents Gymnast obsessed with staying small.

Thank you for suggesting the therapist. My husband and I were talking about it this morning. 99 percent of the girls are thin and not very tall. One girl is 14 and 5foot 4 inches. Watching her on floor is beautiful as she has great lines and can showcase her flexibility. Since Covid we do not go...

Parents Gymnast obsessed with staying small.

Thank you. I am concerned it could get out of hand. She tends to eat healthy. She eats what we make. I know she eats at home and packs snacks for gym and I hope she is eating there. She has never been a huge sweets fan, but will have some from time to time. She talks more about things on the car...

Thank you. She has a well check due in June. I’ll mention it to them. You are correct it is probably the gym as she has mentioned before the coach can help me better because I am smaller.

Parents Gymnast obsessed with staying small.

I am going for advice. My daughter is 10 years old, Level 6 gymnast. She says thing all the time about staying small. She gets upset if someone mentions she looks taller. She has recently started making comments about size small clothes and not wanting to wear clothes that are bigger. Some of...
