WAG Long sleeve leotard in summer

I have scars on my arms and legs from this. They are not particularly obviously SI scars though, so I don't get people seeing them and making assumptions. I was competing though while some of them were stil active wounds and I definitely got questions then. I tended to wear long sleeves when...

    String beds

My club is being displaced from the building we have been in for EVER, but one of the benefits is that the company kicking us out is getting us new equipment. We have to provide them with a list of what we need, along with suppliers and costings. One of the things we wanted to get along with...

    WAG Sewing gymnastics leotards

I would carefully hand sew these into the shoulders using matching thread. You can probably sew it into the seam allowance inside if you do it by hand, so it won't show at al from the outside. Don't worry too much if you can't manager that though, I doubt anyone will really notice a few stitches...

    WAG Sewing gymnastics leotards

I taught myself to sew pretty much entirely from online reading and YouTube... I drafted my own leotard pattern from a Leo that already fit me and even though I now use a pattern to make set sizes for club orders, I still use my original pattern for all of my own Leo's. It's really not hard and...

WAG Options for continuing gymnastics in College

This is a really interesting thread for me, as I basically came back to gymnastics and only started competing while I was AT university. I'd be amazed if it wasn't possible for you to continue in the sport while you study, particularly in the U.S., where gymnastics seems to be so available...

    WAG Questions on Orthotics

I have orthotics from the hospital that were custom made. They are only about 2/3 of the length of my foot, and ever since I got them, I've called them my 'toture devices'. I have PF too and they hurt the tendon under my foot. You definitely have to build up to wearing them; after about half an...

    Adult tramp/T&T in the US?

That's so useful @Iwannabemargo, thank you! I would be somewhere around a 6/7 at the moment, but working for an 8 once I finally get over the backwards mental block... And I'm qualified to teach all of it. And I'm a judge, but idk if that would be the same/still count in the U.S. I and an idle...

    Adult tramp/T&T in the US?

Very general and hypothetical (at the moment) question over here, but I saw a job (non gymnastics related) advertised in the U.S. and I'm interested in applying for it. I wondered, while I am doing my research about the place, and the state, and the job if I would be able to continue with tramp...

    Coaches New Coach

...? Do you not have to qualify at a coach in order to, you know, coach? It seems weird to me that you're asking for tips on how to coach while also saying that you're a coach but hope to become qualified as a coach...?

Voluntary Routine with max 1.1 difficulty

Ok, so it's not weird at all to do a different vol to your set. However, at the lower levels particularly, form wins out every time, which is why people tend to do the same (easier) routine again. I don't know how much you know about the scoring but basically you score for your tariff once, but...

Voluntary Routine with max 1.1 difficulty

half twist to front routine? Are you competing BUCS 6/neut novice (sorry I don't know how neut are doing their categories anymore!) Basically the way tariff works is that you get 0.1 for every 1/4 somersault rotation (in either direction) and 0.1 for every 1/2 a twist. You can get a bonus 0.1...

    WAG Injuries :(

Hey, Sorry you're not feeling your best! Let me start by telling you about my own experience of this; I was 18, just getting into tramp again after a few years break. I landed squarely on my head, hyper extending my back and badly winding myself. None of the coaches were looking my way, and a...

    Leo stitching issue

I have had this issue with a bought Leo. The stitching (which looks like an overlock stitch on the back but is actually done by a cover stitcher as it has 2 lines of straight stitch on the front) was super raised and dug into and rubbed my skin. I didn't do anything about it - it was a cheap...

My age is bothering me for the level I am..

I started competing at 19! I was in an over 15 age category but they take it from your age at the end of the season so I competed against some 14 year olds. The category was small and it was really nice - I wouldn't worry about being older. They other gymnasts will be focussed on their own game...

Coaches Fun games for recreational gymnasts on trampoline?

If you have more than 1 trampoline you can play 'drop', with a small bean bag or soft ball. Everyone bounces and whoever has the ball throws it to someone else, who has to catch (neither may stop bouncing to throw or catch). If they miss then the thrower amd catcher get down, next person gets...
