When you go to a meet and there is a judges' room for meals, what food items do you hope to see or dread seeing when you walk in? I've been asked to oversee the judges' room at our next home meet, so I thought I'd ask the experts! The question also applies to coaches' rooms. Thanks!

Well, I would love to see you include the first woman to swing bars (look at some of the routines from the 50s to see just how different it was!) and the first woman to have the bars further apart where they are now. I have no idea who these folks were, but it would surprise me if no one here...

Hi BigTiny, I sympathize. We've had the opposite problem, with one age group having only 3 to 6 girls, and the gym going out ONE place per event, while the next age group had 25 or so girls in it. Hard to tell the little ones, "there is no silver medal." Especially when the next group goes out...

DD has done privates, and benefited greatly from them. They've been primarily to work on what scares her at a pace that wouldn't be fair to the larger group at practice. For example, I'm budgeting some for that back walkover on the high beam. She has the technique and can do them all day long...

The girl is certainly not winning all the medals, but she could have a chance to go to the provincials in the older age group, but the younger group cannot go. What would you do? Do I say something to her Mom, who doesn't know the ins and outs of rules, or do I tell the coach what I learned...
