    Sand Dollar Meet.

Our team is going, but as my DD is only a level 4 I opted out since the expense is just too big. We were there 2 years ago with my older DD who was a level 6 then. It was a lot of fun!

    Parents COTC--not pretty....

This is a tough meet, no matter what gym you are in. My DD is in a USAG gym that competes a lot and our entire level 4 didn't do very well here.... NJ season is well under way with level 5/6 States at the end of January....when is your States for level6? NJ has 4/5/6 doing a fall season...

Parents COTC Level 6 meet report.....Uggghh!

My DD competed level 4 on Sunday morning. I had to stay back home with older DD so DH took her. So, not having seen her routines (he only filmed bars and half of her floor on his phone.....said rest was way too far to film.....:)) it's hard for me to comment but I have been to this meet many...

    Parisi Speed School

We have one around here and I heard they run a good program. We had a gymnast that used them to improve her running. Can't really tell u if it helped. She was a great gymnast and vaulted very well....don't know if it was thanks to them....

    Christmas on the Chesapeake Meet

I found the bars scores to be consistently higher at this meet over the years (than in NJ)(this year younger daughter competed level 4) but the rest of the events always lower scoring than in NJ (especially vault!) All in all a very nice but tough meet!

Who's doing Christmas on the Chesapeake this weekend?

we'll be there too. My daughter is level 4 and competing Sunday morning. We are from NJ.

Parents 2nd L5 Meet, not so great!

We were at the IGC meet as well! Level 4 session right before you. I thought the scores were pretty low overall as well. I'm pretty sure she'll be able to get her 32.00AA next weekend. They get better with each competition!!! My daughter had ok scores (did manage to get her first 9 on bars :))...

    Parents Izzy's Floor Music

Certainly very different from anything I heard at level 7. She will stand out for sure. And she has the ability to perform to this! Can't wait to see her.

Parents Sometimes I love gymnastics, sometimes I hate it

I have had the same feelings over the years with my DD. Most of the time I was very happy that she is involved in this sport and enjoyed all that comes with it. She never had issues, always had an easy time getting her skills, but was never the perfectionist a gymnast has to be.....(if you know...

Parents Pain, Suffering and X-ray Vision.

Glad to hear Nastia is ok and it was nothing serious. My daughter also fell at the gym yesterday doing a Tsuk timer. Apparently she stopped flipping in midair and fell on her head/neck . She rolled out of her fall which eased things up a bit but still came home with a bruised forehead...

    Parents Coming back around (maybe)...

I knew she loved gymnastics too much to just quit!!!!!! I would go ahead (without waisiting any time and giving her the chance to change her mind ;)) and speak to the owner about modifying her hours. I would use the brace/medical reason rather than DD not wanting to be at the gym so many...

    Parents How do you deal?

I also see two differnt issues here. One is immediate and pretty acute and that is going 5 days without training before a meet - and it's regionals!!!!!!!!!!!! I would insist on having the girls train until the day you leave for the meet. There must be another coach that can be with them, they...

Parents She said the C word!

Hi msl, It seems to me that your DD wants to do SOMETHING. She is not one to just sit home and do nothing for a year. It seems like she keeps looking for that something to do. If she doesn't want to work out at the gym after her tumbling class, it could be for two reasons. one: she is...
