    WAG It happened in 2012!!

Thanks nicci! I will definitely keep you guys updated! Also just wanted to say that I really appreciate everyone's support and encouragement in our small adult gymnast (+1 soon-to-be cheerleader :p) community. I love reading about everyone's progress on here!

    WAG tiger paw sizing

Thanks for the advice! I decided to go with a medium, so we'll see how they feel :)

    WAG It happened in 2012!!

Just a little update on me: As of right now, I'm not planning on going back to gymnastics any time soon (I may decide to go back at some point in the future though). My friend was an all star cheerleader for years and had to quit after this last year because she was having problems with...

    WAG tiger paw sizing

This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. I am not sure if I should get the small or medium size tiger paws because I'm almost in the middle of the two. Size small is supposed to go up to 115 lbs and medium goes from 115 to 150 lbs. I'm usually right in between 115 and 120 lbs, so...

Danell, his towel and his coach

I'm also glad to be dead wrong. Now if you would care to elaborate on how we are wrong it would be greatly appreciated.

    WAG Question about ankle weights

As someone with hip flexor issues, the idea of anyone using ankle weights for leg lifts, kips, and split jumps makes me cringe.

Hi! Brand new to the forum and to the gymnastics scene

Welcome to the CB!! It is definitely not too late for you to learn. I am not a guy so I can't give you perfect advice, but I know any type of upper body strength, core strength, and leg strength can only help. As far as adult classes go, the best thing to do is call around to gyms in your area...

    WAG It happened in 2012!!

Thanks for the exercise katy! I'll have to see if I can make one of those. I never actually did anything to injure my hand...it just started hurting and kept getting worse the more I did on it, so it shouldn't be anything major. I'm probably going to give it until I get back from vacation in a...

    WAG It happened in 2012!!

Just a small update on my break...I've only been out for about a month, but my back (hurt b/c of hip problems) and hip feel so much better already! The only problem I'm still having is with my hand and wrist. It would feel completely fine until I tried to put any weight on it in a handstand, and...

Danell, his towel and his coach

This may be a very unpopular opinion, but I really don't like Danell Leyva or his step dad. Danell just seems like he prefers to be a one-man show and I think he strongly contributed to the lack of chemistry in our men's team.

    WAG Kyla Ross' Coach

I was thinking the same thing when I was watching! Definitely seems like the kind of person I would want as a coach :]

    Mixed Feeling About the Olympics

I think the point of having dreams and goals is to give yourself a path to be on. If you are enjoying the journey on that path, you won't be too disappointed when you have to give that dream up and find a new one. Getting to "the end" should just be icing on the cake :]

    Gymnastics isn't a sport.....NEVER!!

MaryA, my comment was not directed at you in any way :] I was just clarifying for future people reading this thread :p I agree that the list is completely ridiculous and the guy obviously has no clue what he is talking about. I also agree, from personal experience, that gymnastics is way harder...

    Gymnastics isn't a sport.....NEVER!!

^^Not saying I agree at all with this list, and I don't think equestrian should be #1, but I don't want anyone to get the impression that equestrian isn't a sport. Real horseback riding is extremely difficult...not only do you have to control your own actions, but you also have to control your...

    Full turn on beam

Tell her she needs to keep her shoulders right over her hips, keep her stomach tight, and don't let her ribs stick out :] Also, if she is doing them with her arms in high fifth (I believe it's called crown in gymnastics), she should make sure she can see her fingers if she wiggles them while...
