I think your plan is very reasonable. I do agree with you re the gym’s expectation that the child have daytime training one half day a week and miss school is not reasonable esp for lower levels. I don’t know if this is an Ontario thing??

My daughter is also 9 yo and in level 3 in Ontario (Toronto). It is her first year in comp. She does 12-15 hrs/ week (3 hrs are “optional”). She likely will be moving to level 4 next yr, and it will probably be 16 hrs (possibly 3 more hours are “optional”).
