Coaches Another coach coaching your child

My older child has started gymnastics and I'm having a difficult time watching their coach not teach them correctly. I'm also having a hard time trying not to teach them at home. I'm trying hard to stay hands-off but it is becoming increasingly difficult. Has anyone gone through this and how did...

WAG What's the best way to report an abusive coach?

I called Safe Sport today. They informed me that if I file with them my case would be transferred to the NGB (USAG) because it's not of sexual nature. So then I spoke with a CPS worker who informed me that they only deal with complaints regarding in-home abuse. Anything that happens outside of...

WAG What's the best way to report an abusive coach?

Hi all, I just recently watched Athlete A and I'm inspired, yet nervous. I believe we have an abusive coach at our gym but after reading some of these threads it seems to me like nothing will happen. My faith is squandered after reading the recent news on Azarian and I'm wondering what to do...

WAG A general and hypothetical discussion of the industry's handling of abusive coaches

There were many times they didn't "make it back" or move places...

    WAG Back handspring help!!!

For the future, it's much easier to give a correction if we can see it from the side rather than the front. Maybe try recording it from a side angle and reposting. We might be able to see more of what's going on.

    WAG Back handspring help!!!

The first back handspring your chest is dropping forward and you're jumping straight up and landing hard on your hands. The second back handspring your chest stays up and leans back more, so when you jump you go more backwards instead of up. It lands more lightly on your hands. Work on leaning...

    Back handspring stepout split help

First of all, you need to jump high enough. If you cannot jump high enough, you won't have enough time to split your legs open. You'll be too low and your hands will hit early. Start working on plyo/explosive leg conditioning and work on doing back handsprings up to a mat. First start off with...

WAG A general and hypothetical discussion of the industry's handling of abusive coaches

I'm new here but just watched Athlete A. I had some trouble dealing with USAG in the past and also want the organization to no longer exist or control the lives of young gymnasts. How exactly would you take down an organization like that?
