    Parents Too young to leave?

I didn't leave my dd until she was 6 and on team Even before she was going 2-3 times a week. I think that 3.5 is too young to leave. Especally if she needs help with her leotard.

How much Leo's and Comp Fees usually?

Our leo/warmup and bag runs 350 every 2 years and our competion fee this year is 700. She is a level 7. But for our level 4s it is 400, level 5s 600. Also USGA membership of 55(i think) once a year.

    Parents Shorts or no Shorts????

In the summer the girls can wear shorts over their leotards When training for competition, then it is only when the girl has her period. The coaches want to be able to see their hip placement for form

Parents Hunde2 Question about your gym...

I am so glad! It would have been such a shame. Another gym said the Sandpoint one was already closed and yours was closing/ closed down.

Parents Hunde2 Question about your gym...

I heard from another gym(not ours) that yours closed down? Another is moving out there and teaming with Bliss to take over the slack. You guys produced a lot of great gymnasts.

    Rec Op and Prep Op

I disagree with you on this There is no pressure to make it to the next level in rec/prep op. There is novice and advanced. Not will I make it to level 5 or whatever the next season. If you have the right skills you can compete advanced. You don't have to qualify for state competitions...

    Rec Op and Prep Op

are the same things. My daughter used to compete rec op here in Wa and she moved to compulsory this season. Rec op is more fun for the kids, they learn tricks sooner, when competing the judges aren't as harsh and strict. A lot of rec op gymnasts are prior compulsory ones who still love...

    Parents Competition Hairstyles

Thanks for letting me know I am trying to find new hair styles for my dd. I am getting bored with what I know. We love the twisted style with the zig zag part. I just cant figure out how to do that.

What I would do with your dds hair I would get a bone tail comb (like at a beauty supply store) and put twists in. I use rewind or similar gel, take small sections and wrap the hair over the comb, pulling the comb out as you twist. That keeps it tight and is really easy to do.

I have seen the silver scissors styles mentioned there is a flyer you can look through to see what style you want, is that flyer one they give out? Where is silver scissors located? Maybe I can get a copy of it.

Parents How old are each of your kids in Gymnastics

My dd is 8, first yr level 5. She has been competing as an advanced rec-op gymnast for 2 seasons before this. So this is her first year in levels, she has many of the level 7-8 skills, but has to work out some form issues she learned before.

    Parents Coaches with no experience

My dd went to a gym like that She was taught back handsprings before back walkovers. The owners reasoning was that if they can learn the harder tricks then go for it. It really affected her form. It has taken her about a year to break all the bad habits she learned at that gym. Now at her...
