My daughter started 3 hr proctices at 5, and she adjusted fine. She, however, is homeschooled so is able to have a break between school and gym. The kids I saw have trouble were mainly the young kids still getting used to a full day of school then having to go from school directly to gym...
My daughter had big challenges her whole gold year with her cartwheel...only landed it in three comps out of 7. But over that next summer it clicked, and now she can do it easily. The next year it was her Roundoff....in her Platinum season, she nailed her cartwheel (part of her dismount series)...
Depends on your region and the qualification policy. In my region, the score is set for regionals and if you get it at State Meet (or if you pre qualified, if your level allows that), you are in. So everyone at my gym knew as soon as they completed states this weekend, which is good, as our...
Your daughter's wishes should come first. Just let your family know that she gets nervous with family watching and has asked to keep it to immediate family. My daughter gets very nervous with her family there, so we only have one of us at each meet (usually me, sometimes her dad). If family...

It is going to depend on region/state. Here, compulsories and optionals compete on the same schedule. Sept/Oct we have one or two inhouse/or small local meets for scoring out/etc, Main season runs Nov - March. Our lower levels don't do all the meets that the older girls do.
If the gym management/head coach are not aware of this survey, I would be very careful. This could seem like a bunch of people talking negatively about them behind their back. Crazy stuff gets said in anonymous surveys. If people have serious concerns, what is stopping them from bringing them...
It’s common for pre team and team to switch to summer training hours when school is out. I’m lucky in that my husband is a stay at home dad so it’s not an issue for us, but we all help each other out. When they were younger we’d have teammates whose parent work sleep over on gym days, or pick...
A quick chat directly after the meet prior to awards, but thats about it. This time of year, there are so many meets for us that there isn't really time in between to modify. We have three meets in february then one more in March right before state meet, so unless there is a specific issue...
