I'm so sorry to hear this. How did she break it? Does she at least have a good story??

My ds had been out this whole season, he has ocd in his elbow. No good story, just over use.He had surgery two weeks ago. So I understand your disappointment... It really does stink when they work so hard then get injured and can't compete. :(

No good story, just jammed it on a funky vault landing. She was having back issues earlier in the season and had to switch from a yurchenko to a tsuk while getting through the back stuff. She was so proud to be able to learn a new vault so quickly. Got in the car last week and started sobbing because she had jammed it and knew she had hurt it :( This too shall pass.

Ugh -- I'm so sorry!! That is a huge, huge bummer. It is often hard to find that silver lining, but maybe while she heals, she can work on beam, leaps, jumps, dance, fitness/cardio...maybe finding an area of weakness that she can use this time to focus on improving will help her.

But there is nothing that will make her happy about missing State or Regionals. We've been in that position and it is very disappointing. :(

Just a thought...no idea on level but can she do a beam routine with no hands? All flight acro, leaps, turns? I've seen kids compete as specialists on beam without using their arms at all due to elbow/wrist injuries.

That silver lining is somewhere right?
Sorry to hear about that.

At least she won't be out for any of the regular season. (Assuming there's a break at least in competitions before the next season starts).
She gets to rest her back too.

You've got a huge support group to empathize/sympathize/commiserate with you.

But yes, it sucks.
