Hi,
We have a gymnast who will be 20 on May 31, 2018. He cannot compete USAG anymore, but won't be going to a 4 year college until the 2018-19 school year(hopefully). He has graduated from high school.
What meets can he compete, i.e.....what meets have an "elite" or "open" division...
The boys have grown out of their vests from last year. We have been looking for new ones. Every one that is the correct weight for them, are way to small in the chest. Anyone have this problem before? Where did you find them? We also don't want to spend an arm and a leg on them, since they...
Anyone know how an athlete gets to the event finals whose team didn't make it to the finals? I know its possible, since there were athletes out there whose team didn't make it, but my question is how?
A gymnast tied for fourth on the first day and his score would have tied for eigth on the day...
With regionals soon, and some uptraining already started, I thought we could have a happy thread for it!!
Yesterday, my older son was really excited to do a kip on the pbars....on the first try.
Today, my younger son(preteam) earned a shamrock shake by getting his first unassisted pullover...
I thought we could let each other know when there is actual men's gymnastics on tv via this thread. lol. I noticed a tri meet last night of Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska, watched it with the boys, and we all enjoyed it so much!! Of course, it helped that we personally knew some of the guys out...
We received word today that the schedule has changed to allow for the tech sequence to be done the same way as it will be at nationals for the level 8-10's. it's not on the website yet, but basically Friday and Sunday are switched around.

The level 5's will now...
Is there somewhere I can see the 'prime age' for the different levels? Does it change based on state or region? Is it always the same, or does it change with the code of points with the Olympic cycle?
Other than things like the "All State Team" where else does this affect them? Is there ever...
Anyone have any good sources, or is it all just chance to find materials? Of course, like everything else, girls stuff is everywhere....
Also, is there any kind of digital form that allows you to type in scores and placements and then you can print it out with like a picture in the background...
I was thinking about how when girls change gyms, you hear all about it. Norah Flatley, McKayla Maroney, Kerri Strug, Vanessa Atler, Dominique Moceanu, etc. You hear about their old gym, and about their new gym.
Anyway, I was thinking about how most of the men change gyms because of going to...
Men's team announced a little while ago.....
Danell Leyva, John Orozco, Jonathan Horton, Jake Dalton and Sam Mikulak! The alternates are Chris Brooks, Steven Legendre and Alex Naddour.
Personally, I love the team, but would have skipped Legendre for someone else....I just don't trust him...
I am so sad that Chellsie's beam routine was not her normal routine today and that she won't be able to go to Nats and Olympic Trials. She really should have done her floor so that the selection committee could see more than a messed up routine. I bet if this was 2008 where there was less...
Anyone watching the results from JO Nationals?
Queen City Gymnastics
I don't think gymnastike is covering them at all....since the girls is this weekend as well
I have heard a lot about the girls changing, but didn't hear anything about the boys changing, so I thought that they weren't. But now I hear they may be as well.
So, are the boys changing too? Where do you get info about this? I know the stock answer will be "Trust your coach" which I do, but...
Why are there so many different competition formats?
My son had his first "true capital cup" format yesterday, and let me tell you, we hated it. It seems dangerous too!
He is a Level 4 guy, so I think feeling comfortable on the eqpt seems to be the most important thing. I know he has told...
Last night I noticed that two of the boys from other gyms in the area also competed level four last year. Of course, kids can repeat levels, but last year these boys competed as six year olds, and this year they are also competing as six year olds.
So, here is my question. Do you have to be...
