I started late and was chubby too so I never went to gym w/o shorts but it never became a problem when time for competition; I'm more comfy practicing in shorts so I agree with them - do what makes you comfy!
Start gym again hopefully! :D I miss it like crazy but I got caught in the routine change so I have to see what skills are still consistent before knowing my level :s
Hey, is it possible to move from Level 3 - Level 7 in the time span of 7 months? One of my friends just told me she moved up and not meaning to rain on her parade but i just really wanted to know if this can happen? She's 13 if that makes a difference; Again, not hating just simply curious...
I haven't been here in a while lol, I haven't been to gymnastics in a whole year and although I've missed it for some reason, recently I've just been dying to go back :(
I originally stopped just to have a break because I didn't really enjoy the environment and then high school junior year...
I have been in your position and it's absolutely okay to be nervous! What i did was slowly ease back by starting with basics and eventually getting more confident to try my old skills. I was terrified to do the skill that caused my knee injury and my coach understood that and we slowly built up...
I started gym when I was 10 and started level 3 my second year which was pretty good. It's 4 years later and I'm training level 6. Anything is possible when you reach for the stars :)
Hi, have any of you had experience with Precision Gymnastics, Rancho Cucamonga, California? I'm gonna be over there for a bit and wanted to check out some gymnastics while I'm at it. Are they good? :)
^ Valdez are definitely scary w/o trying but very fun once you've got it! One handed walkovers look good aswell. Tinsica's are fun too and once you learn a tinsica, you can do rolling tinsicas like in this video :) Paige back rolling tinsicas - YouTube
Is it weird that I actually prefer connecting tumbling passes on the floor rather than tumbl trak? Like I hate doing RO+BHS+BT or even just RO+BHS on our tumbl trak! I get too much bounce and go too high for my bhs. I like doing skills on tumbl trak...just not tumbling passes...But it's weird...
This happens to my coach haha! There's a competitive and rec group...My coach scopes out the rec group usually while we're stretching or conditioning (they start earlier than us) I think it's kinda funny because while we were stretching, there was this little 6 year old in the rec group doing...
I'm going through the same thing! I'm on the low beam again getting really comfortable with them and my coach tries to encourage me by saying if I didn't think you could do it, I wouldn't put you up there. It helped a bit but I still want her there to spot! Tomorrow's a new gym day so I think...
Hey guys! I've been in the gym for about a month now and recovery is coming pretty smooth. I'm recovering from a knee injury btw.
On beam I did walkovers, leaps, and full turns for the week basically...I know it's not much but its huge in my books!
On bars I did casting, push away kips and I...
I'm going through something similar but it's on beam. I used to be able to throw back walkovers on high beam like it was walking but now I'm not sticking any, even with spot on high beam...I sorta know what you're going through :\
