    MAG Skidz??

Does anyone know what the heck happened to Skidz wrist guards? My son's been using them happily for years, and then about a month ago I went to order new ones and they seem to be off all the websites. Is anybody using something that works equally well? Asking for a grumpy pommel worker.

    MAG regionals

Well, there's a plan for Region 7. All allotment. Numbers are posted. http://region7mensgymnastics.com/2021%20Region%207%20State%20Allotments%203%2010%2021.pdf Curious how other regions are doing it. Business as usual? A smaller meet for lower levels?

MAG Good option for a meet that WILL HAPPEN!

If your men's team is searching for a meet in early February, please consider the Fred Turoff Invitational. It's remote format, so it will be able to take place even if traveling is off the table. Most importantly, it is a fundraiser for the Temple University men's team. With this format, they...

Parents If you can, support your gym

Many gyms are closing, and I anticipate by the end of this week, all or almost all in the US will be closed. We will all face different forms of financial fallout during this period, but some of us are in positions in which we are expected to keep working full time and will continue to get our...

Parents For the curious -- NAIGC

So my DD is now in college and recently competed in her first NAIGC meet. Her psycho mom packed up her (not so) little brother and drove the 4.5 hours to see it. The bottom line -- she loves her team and the program, and if your high schooler still wants to continue in gymnastics in college...

    MAG Headache advice needed!

Gymnast involved is a 15 year old L10 who is in the early phases of puberty. No history of concussions. Over the last few weeks, he has been getting debilitating headaches at gym, which seem to be linked to his rings rotations. He's not the kind of kid who complains a lot, so this is concerning...

MAG When are state meets for you all?

I was really surprised to see that state meets are already happening in a few places. We aren't until mid-March, thank goodness!

    MAG quick update

It may be a while before the MAG group is back up, so posting here. The big guy had his follow up appointment and all looks good. The stitches are out and he's been cut loose by the orthopedist to work gradually back up to full weight-bearing. His coach is still hoping against hope that they...

Parents Days are long, years are short

Our gym has this thing where every year, they take silhouette photos of graduating seniors and make them into individual banners that will hang in the gym after they graduate. My daughter's photo session is tonight.

    MAG Watch Worlds selection camp!

Reminder that USAG is doing a webcast of worlds selection camp for the men today. Link is . I would guess they will be paying close attention to the number of views, so even if you can only pop in briefly, I think clicking on that link will send an important message about the enthusiasm that...

https://www.facebook.com/StickItMediaMensGymnastics/posts/800688473455631 I don't really know enough about this to be able to say much but was curious as to what others thought. The anonymous letter does seem to raise some important concerns.

    MAG A JD/JO question

So suppose just for druthers, you have a guy who's competing JD1. If you wanted to figure out roughly what he'd be scoring in JO at L9, would it simply be a matter of adding .5 to his event scores for events where he had all group requirements and a B dismount? Or are judges developing norms...
