TDG and TD- inconsistent- cast HS!
DD is training level 7 after two years at level 6. Fear, massive growth spurts (she is 5’6” and all, legs) and plagued by injuries and growth issues like Severs.
Get a doctors diagnosis first. DD has Severs. In July what we thought was another case of Severs , wasn’t. It was Achilles Tendinitis. Which is treated slightly differently.
For Severs, the cheetah cup helped her. And ice. And ibuprofen. And stretching/ massaging. The whole protocol.
Thank you. We do have heel cups. And a cheetah from her Severs disease she had last year. She is stil, hurting, three weeks later, but it is improving. She still cannot run or tumble or land, except for light tumbling on a tramp. What seems to have helped is wearing a night splint designed for...
Thank you! The Ortho told us not to massage or do the Severs stuff (she had Severs last year). I think I know the spot in her calf though.... it’s always tight. And the few days before going to the Ortho I was following Severs protocol, thinking that’s what it was. Oh and yes, she is supposed...
My DD, 13, has had Achilles Tendinitis for two weeks now. The Ortho said to rest (10 days no gym... she did go in but only did arms, abs, and some bars, and barely walked around), ice often, ibuprofen and come back for a follow up only if no improvement or if it gets worse in which case he will...
My mom who is in her 70s broke her foot while on a shore excursion on a cruise and walked miles back to the ship. So, yes , you can walk on a broken bone. FWIW, it was swollen, blue/ black and lumpy. Please... go get it checked out.
My DD started at 2.... But from watching her older brother she was forward rolling since 17 months.... Proper form and all.... Shortly after she turned two she was suing the window sill as a balance beam. That was a big indicator. She only did it once - don't worry. She has never stopped...
Congrats! That's awesome! I am amazed that she is allowed to train them! At our gym you cannot start training them until you are nearly done with level 4 and ready for 5.
I think our gym leaves it as being at coach's discretion. Rumor is it depends on scoring a 37 AA, and having the next level skills. But from what one of DDs coaches said... They put them at the level where they feel the girls will be the most successful. They also do not compete them until...
DDs elbows also hyperextended a lot. So far she hasn't had any problems, besides her arms never appearing straight. She has to be careful to not lock them out though. I don't know if it makes a difference that hers are naturally like that versus your DD who it sounds happened after surgery though.
I've always considered our gym small...
