Well my oldest gymmie is retired (permanately) but the younger one who decided to quit when her sister retired, a month before she was supposed to start level 3 (new 2), has decided she wants to go back. I love the sport, honest I do, but I was enjoying not having a child at the gym 3-4 hours a...
Has anyone had their gymmie retire from gym, go on to another sport and the training/competition just not be enough for them?
My dd retired in spring, not by choice, and has chosen soccer as her sport. She played in spring, loved it, couldn't get enough of it. She is trying out for her high...
I thought I would drop in and give an update on my retired gymmie. She had injured both growth plates in her wrist and done some damage to the ligament in between the two bones. After trying everything else they did a cortizone steroid injection and casted it for a month.
She got the cast off...
Does anyone know of people using tiger paws for other sports? After my daughter gets out of her cast I want her to have some support and the typical braces don't allow for full use of the hand like tiger paws do.

So both my daughter and I are beyond frustrated. We went back to the orthopedic surgeon today, while its better than it was the 'healing' so to speak is at a standstill and is still causing problems. Lets put it this way, she tried to do a simple kartwheel the other day and her wrist could not...
We went to get the MRI done and back to ortho today and he said that while the MRI shows healing and it is definitely a repetitive us injury to her growth plate. Yes it will heal, slowly. It's already been 7 weeks since the pain first started. He has her starting occupational therapy to start...
Dd's orthopedic doctor referred her to an upper extremity specialist at Shriners on Wednesday, I called yesterday to check when the appointment was and they said the 16th. I hemmed and hawed and she said, "well I have an opening tomorrow..." I said, DONE. So we went to see him this morning...
Sitting here waiting at ortho. We have to first get her cast off, then an xray and finally see the doctor to see what the verdict is.

I am about to head out to dd's orthopedic appointment for her possible wrist fracture. The pediatrician said, 'calcification on the distal ulna'. Have to wait to see what ortho says now.
My gymmie's wrist has been bothering her for almost 2 weeks, we thought it was just a sprain so taped it and did modified workouts. I finally took her to the doc this morning and they did an xray. The xray showed "calcification around a possible distal ulna fracture". She has an appt with...
I am wondering if you or your gymmie started out T&T or trasitioned there from Artistic?
A little background. My 13 yo gymmie started at 6 on pre-team, competed at 7&8 at level 4 artistic, lost her coach/gym/security, went to a new gym and had a bad experience with the new coach and ended up...
When you saw a girl "Wow, she is going to go far"? Long story short, a girl that was in my 11 year old son's class in 1st grade and on his soccer team as well, was just getting ready to compete in gymnastics. Mom and I were acquaintances, would see each other now and then. I distinctly...
So dd went to workout last night, first one after the meet. While the girls were warming up the coaches were doing their thing. HC passed by and was chatting with myself and the other gym dad that is there as much as I am. He commented that some girls were going to get a 'talking to' after...
We are a small gym with a small team so everyone always knows everyone's business. My dd as a return after a 4 year hiatus and 6 months back in the gym; struggles, works her but off, fights for every tenth she gets. Another young girl in her group has oodles of natural talent, everything comes...
So the pants that were ordered for dd's warm ups were too long...to the extent that they were long enough for me. No biggie, she will grow, but brought them to the alterations place to have them hemmed and the waist taken in. Skinny is dd's middle name. They said they would be ready today...
I am wondering what everyone feeds their gymmies before/after workout, meets etc. I used to be so dilligent about what my gymmie ate and I have since slacked off. We are trying to come up with a good diet plan for her (not diet as in loose weight, but diet as in what they are consuming) and...
So my 13yo gymmie had her first meet back in 4 years. She did a great job, scoring was horribly inconsistent, see the other thread about a child landing on her back doing a bhs and getting a 7.1, and this was a Judges Cup! You would think that it would set the bar high for the season, which...
