I think there are lots of things to consider when it comes to injuries and could they be prevented.
What was the child performing when injured. Could it have been prevented?
What is the conditioning like in the gym.
What level is the gymnast and are they ready for that skill.
Was there spotting...
No I had not seen it. It's still not up on Gymnastics Ontario. If its this meet then it's early. Jan 3-5th
We went last year as a club and it was Jan 11th weekend.
It was a well run, fun meet...
Howdy - fellow Canadians.... does anyone know where Tour will be this year?
Thank you :)
p.s. It has been a while - hope you are all fantastic. Honestly I am not sure where the time has gone.
Alex is still training and entering her last year of high school...then off to Towson...
You will be so missed. You are so insightful and always politically correct.
You have been amazing on the site and meeting you in person.
I wish you all the best and you should pop in once in a while.
Happy New Year Bog....
I do not feel that a service is necessary unless you don't have the time to put into the process. Its a lot of work, you need to be organized and need to be determined.
We did everything ourselves and we are so excited with the D1 school she is going to.
I did everything until it was time to...
New dismount 2.0 - poor kid...she has tried everything
Full in, Full out, double lay, etc. She just struggles with dismounts.
This one is working for her...but I hate the blind landings... keeping fingers crossed
It sounds like your dd had a really sad and not so great experience. Did she stay the whole 4 years or did you pull her out early because it was so horrific?
I hope that every gym has their own experiences and that my dd wil be exactly what she is looking for. We have friends at my dd...
This article made me sad but I have totally seem this during my DD career. I feel it's a lot more aggressive for kids who are pathing elite/national. In my opinion those kids get it a lot worse then a age 12 level 6 gymnast does .
Sadly some coaches that we have witnessed along the way...
I think this is a combination of a lot of things. A great coach starts by being a great coach. They don't have to go to a "good" club to become one. They either have the strong qualities of what it takes and means to be a good coach. Does the coach on their own take coaching courses or do...
I have watched this again to see if there is justification to make fun of gymnasts and I just don't get it and don't see how it fosters positive learning.
We are only seeing a very small clip. Maybe the gymnast was just ripped a strip because of something, maybe she has tried that particular...
I stopped watching after seeing a few examples. I would be so mad if my dd coach did this. I wouldn't be happy with my dd for having attitude. But posting it on IG is disgusting....
I know some kids that are age 9 and 10 doing 30+ hours. Unfortunately the coach has IMO planted a fairy tale romance to these parents.
Sadly they do not understand the power of burnout. Having been there with Alex and her coach training her 30+ hours, 3 days of lift, on line courses. It...
My guess is the coach doesn't want to single out one particular person. If your daughter doesn't smell I wouldn't worry about it. But I would just tell your daughter to tell him - thats not the brand I use but thank you for offering.
I wouldn't make a big deal about it. Someone on the team...
Well training has become fun again and she is loving it. So thankful she has her spirit back.
Summer training is coming to an end for her.... Here are a few new things she played with this summer. Thanks always for watching and cheering her on.
Glad to hear that nothing was broken.
In our gym even if you have a broken arm, foot, torn knee - you still go to training. Obviously it would be tailored to their abilities. But not going is never an option for our gym and has never even been questioned by my dd.
Also you will get to...
