That sounds very reasonable to me :)

If you were my daughter, I would not expect you to refund the meet fees, etc. as others have suggested. My daughter would've felt guilty and wanted to do that, but I would not have allowed her to. Every parent knows that gymnastics is a sport where you pay for everything upfront well in advance...

Don't give up looking. We have gotten all of our hypoallergenic dogs from rescues, ranging in age from 5 months to 18 months of age. You just have to keep looking. We always found a good one within a few weeks of looking.

    Parents Practice and religious observance

I worked at a gym that was open on Sundays from 8-4pm. One team level had practice in the afternoon. Other than that it was rec & ninja classes and a ton of privates going on. I'm actually surprised it's not more popular after seeing how packed the gym was on Sunday. For the team I worked for...

Just for fun: curious what level

Those skills are DP level 4-5 or Xcel level Gold-Platinum in the US.

    WAG Flame retardant-free pit foam

I would want to know if they are on top of this. It should be their responsibility. When this new first came out they advised all coaches that gymnasts should not be allowed to "clean pits." I have seen no change in this practice where I live, which is disappointing.

    WAG Flame retardant-free pit foam

I was surprised none of our previous gym owners/coaches cared. Us former gymnasts/now coaches are obviously most affected! Did your gym ask to be a part of the study?

    WAG Flame retardant-free pit foam

https://silentspring.org/news/how-protect-gymnasts-hazardous-chemicals-gym-facilities I suggested we do this at the last gym my daughter and I worked out at/worked at (when we were moving to a new building and getting new pits) and was shot down so fast. I would love to hear of gyms that take...

Parents Jelousy hate and rage from teamates and parents

So the question was... are all of these people jealous of all of the talented kids (you mentioned 8 YO L8s and kids better than yours) or just jealous of yours?

    Off Topic Sports medicine doctors

Find a doctor who will also consider Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Rheumatologist or Geneticist) as an underlying reason for the hyperextension/dislocation. A good PT can possibly recommend one if they can first document the hypermobility.

    Parents Advice- jealousy of parents

My daughter got a late start in gym because she had multiple life-threatening health challenges and surgeries as a baby/preschooler. Once she was healthy enough to do gym, she took off and bypassed all of her peers (did a single fall season of compulsories, followed by optionals in her first...

Parents Jelousy hate and rage from teamates and parents

...they have a few girl better than my daughter that are even young 8 year old level 8 on track to HOPES as well. My kid isn't the only kid getting shown attention... So are all of those girls envied by the rest of the parents/resented by compulsory coaches? You made it sound like it was just...

Parents Jelousy hate and rage from teamates and parents

I once worked at an extremely toxic gym where the owner/head coach would do this type of thing with pretty much every talented new kid who joined the program (can't do it anymore as USAG banned him for life for different reasons). He also intentionally tried to make staff jealous of other staff...

NCAA Will 14yo lvl 6/7 make NCAA?

There are rare cases where a late bloomer has a shot at NCAA, but if that were the case for your daughter, her coaches would've already had a talk with you and presented a plan to get her up to level 10 quickly. One of my daughter's teammates grew up doing cheer and decided to try gymnastics at...

Anon Slow & Steady- how to support them?

You didn't really mention anything your daughter said about how she feels. Is she frustrated or are you worried about her potential frustration in the future because of the things you mentioned about the gym's climate? I will tell you from experience that the environment you are describing is...

It sounds like your daughter would receive merit scholarship offers based on her GPA. Have you looked into that?

    Off Topic COVID gym changes

The only covid change our gym implemented was that the girls had to walk in the building with masks. Once they were in the building, the masks came off (unless they wanted to wear them, but I don't remember anyone wearing them). Honestly, this was just to prevent outsiders from reporting the gym...

    WAG TOPs/preteam

I agree with your statement for many gyms. I once did the TOPS math at a gym where I worked (because I considered our TOPS program to be a lot of hype with not much of a track record). This gym was assumed to have an excellent TOPS program because we had trained a few national team members and...

    Parents Twisties

You can find a qualified sports hypnotherapist. They teach athletes how to go into a deep state of relaxation and "fix" the skill in their head, which makes it much easier to fix in the gym. In 1996, I had an athlete work with one and the results were so impressive I have continued to recommend...
