For me, I am the complete opposite. I was always able to front tumble very well but, back tumbling is my Achilles heel. I competed this past season as a level 7 and honestly the first 4 meets of the year I didn't get credit for my back layout. It was frustrating and I put so much pressure on...
I feel like it really depends on the gym. I started even later then her (12 and that was the first time I did rec) and now 4 1/2 years later I'm a level 7 gymnast. Since you live in canada the next step before team at a lot of gyms is Interclub. Where they get to have their own routines and go...
Hi,
I know there are probably a million different topics already on this but, I fell like I am really stuck here.
Whenever I first started competitive gymnastics I had mental blocks on pretty much everything (standing back handsprings/back tucks, round off back handsprings, front handspring...
The bead thing is defiantly different. At our gym when you get a new skill or medal in the all around you get a sticker on our giant sticker chart. I know I like it because it makes me feel like my new skill is noticed? But I say if Ragan likes the beads we shouldn't judge her about it. I think...
I'm quiet tall (5'71/2) and around 110-115 pounds. I had done Giants in the strap bar for almost a 1 1/2 (first from swings, then from cast, then from my attempt at a cast to hand stand-me and handstand kinda are not friends) and two weeks ago a tried Giants on the pit bar for the first time and...
Do you know if where you live inter club would be an option? I would say it is the closest thing to the Canadian equivalent to Xcel. When I first started gymnastics (12) I was out right into what the call inter club, it is a very low stress environment where you learn you're skills at your own...
This is crazy! I live in Canada and at leased where I live there is program you can enter to (for athletes) that can excuse you for gym or for practice/competitions. The only PE that is mandatory is PE 10. Other than that I have friends who haven't done PE since 5 grade but will have to next year
Trust me I had the absolute worst mental block on back walkovers on beam. I had it for 7 months! I just recently over came it and it was the best feeling in the world. What I did is once I got on the beam I would look and my hands and slowly go backwards, finally I managed to put my hands down...
Well for me now I have 5 ish, but 4 that don't fit and more that have been given away. But I won't wear Leo's any more until October since it's too hot.
Mine would be to compete level 8. I'm 14 now and a level 5 (two and a half years of gym) I just really want to compete a flipping vault, and level 8 it always something I've look up two as my Olympics.
