Well, competed at regionals yesterday. Got 6th out of 7, but if all goes as planned, I'll still make states. Diving competitions are weird... 4 districts make a region and there are 4 regions in my state, so states isn't really states... Wasn't my best day, but I had never been to that pool or...
Thanks! I actually made the transition from landing on my feet to landing on my head a lot better than most gymnasts... Although I did land on my face a lot when I was training L10 my last year of gym...
As some may remember, I posted 5-6 months ago that I decided to move on from gym and go to diving... Well, I am THRIVING in the pool. I had districts for high school diving on Tuesday (7:30am... yuck) and got second place with a 354.00, which I think is pretty good, but I've been used to a max...
Gasparilla Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida is HUGE! They have 6+ sessions going at any given time, 4 on girls side and 2-3 on the boys side. So many different countries are represented.
At the gym I was at last year, out of a 5 hour practice 5 days a week, and 3 hours on Saturday, the 5 hour practices we did about 3 hours between basics and conditioning, and on Saturdays it was all conditioning (which made my private afterwards deadly)
I completely forgot to mention, I don't enjoy the sport anymore, which was always our standards for quitting.
I've only gone to 4 diving practices, but I really enjoy it! :)
(the 3m springboard is SCARY)
I was in gym for almost 12 years, and was supposed to compete level 10 last year but only competed 3/7 meets, and all 3 of those were on the fractured/sprained elbow...
I am very sad to say that I went to my last gymnastics practice last night. Injuries definitely played a huge part in my decision (this was completely my decision), last year I found out I have back problems for life, this year I couldn't compete because of a fractured and sprained elbow, then a...
Definitely vault, I hate starting on beam and bars because I never feel like I'm warmed up enough, but starting on vault gets me to the point where I feel like I'm ready. Also because floor is my favorite even and the only one where I can just go out and have fun! :)

Thank you for looking and responding. My coach has figured out the problem, I am basically forgetting the basics of how to do a kip. I will see if I can figure out how to post a video on here from the competition a couple weekends ago.
This is from a few months ago but maybe the problem was already there and just wasn't big enough of an issue until now that it started affecting my skills.
They don't feel like they are slipping at all. The coach that understands how frustrated I am said that they were to stretched out so I got the new pair, but the new pair did it still. Then I tried one of her daughter's old pairs and they also did it. I can give you a link to one of my more...
