Thanks everyone! Her coach told her last year if she would fully extend and straighten her legs and point her toes her score would drastically improve on every event. Queen bee was right she got "tenth to death" last year. (Most events last year scored in the range of 7.5-8.3 )
She switched...
Can someone give me an idea on what this might score in a meet? I know there are a few places where she could kick (lever) higher and with an straighter leg. Her leaps and jump can be higher.
I'm just curious. This looks so much better then last year (repeating L4) and just wanted a...
If I posted this right... here is her RO BHS BHS. She needs to work on keeping her feet together but not sure if she has too much squat or not enough[emoji23]
I hate all different names but yes the RO/BHS/BHS. I will find her video of it from Sunday (just a tumbling session not meet) see if anyone can tell me what's wrong.
Today at my DD L4 practice meet she got notes back on her events on things to work on. One of the notes said she must squat in her double flip flop. What does that mean? Is that for after the round off prior to the first flip flop?
I have limited gymnastics knowledge &

We do apple slices and yogurt dip, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese slices, strawberries and grapes, small salad. The girls get a 15 min break to eat a light snack and rest. So it has to be small enough to eat quickly.
I'm in northern Illinois and pay $340 for 16 hours (L4). We also pay around $450-500 for coaches fees.
I'm not sure what preteam pays but I believe it is based on how many times a week you attend.
For this area very normal...
We went last year with gym friends and I think the moms were more in awe than our kiddos. It was so amazing to watch all the athletes! Have a great time!!!
The higher levels (7-10) I have seen them in fitted tanks and bar shorts in the summer or early fall or if not competing. NEVER just a sports bra and shorts. The level 3-6 girls all wear leotards and they are allowed capri (spandex material) or bar shorts during warm-ups. I know both of my...
I either braid the front or spider web the front and then put in low pony and split pony into sections. Braid and wrap each section. Lots of Bobby pins and hairspray. I do it the night before. The girls sleep in a silk sleeping cap I got at Walgreens. Hair never moves!
Both have long hair (...
Each of my girls got 4 LEOs and a pair of bar shorts. In my defense I had a friend who picked up 4 leos for me at the Alpha Factor outlet and I had left over money in my fundraising account so I got 4 more and bar shorts.
The upside is I'm getting rid of all the smaller leos.
So, I have noticed as I have become friends on FB with other gym parents that several (not all) are also friends with some of our coaches. Now, I can say most of these coaches are 20-24 yrs old and the moms are all 35 and up...
It made me wonder if coaches are comfortable sharing their private...
This year the older girls (level 7-10) are going to be secret Santa's to the younger girls (level 3-6). At the end of 2 weeks there is a gift exchange. There is a limit of $20 and it is requested no candy/food.
What would an "older" gymnast like??? Would they like Starbucks gift cards...
Divide and conquer here. My DH is fire fighter so if he is not on shift he will typically be doing the hockey game with my DS. If no hockey is going on we split up the meets ( I have a L3 and L4) he will come late to watch and stay through awards while I take the second DD to checkin and start.
