    I attended a not so local meet this weekend and was shocked by the ages of the lower level gymnasts... they had level 4's that I'm pretty sure were 16....

    I wouldn’t just blame the coaches for this.... more times than not it’s the parent basically demanding their child be moved up. Of course it could be poor coaching too, but parents thinking they can choose their childs levels happens way too often.

    Okay valid point, I meant that everyone should worry about what level THEIR child is on and THEIR child’s gym. Not others.

    I agree. In the long run this meet means nothing, and I think it would've been better to have her sit this one out. I think Valeri wanted to prove that she could get up and compete no matter what, and it seems like he encouraged that more than Maggie who openly said she wasn't ready. I just hope...
