Parents Watching practice- a no no?

My DD gym, team parents aren't allowed to stay and watch. It's the rule. That is fine with me, I don't feel like sitting there for 3-4 hrs a night!

    Parents Next level

I don't think so. They had their mind made up in beginning of summer last year. Now 2 of 3 girls that were level 7 will be playing catch up because they want to push them up to level 8. Crazy! What's the rush??

    Parents Next level

My DD gym moved 3 of 6 to level 6 and the other 3 moved to 7...the 3 on level 6 had a great year! The 3 on level 7, not so much! All 3 girls had injuries, one was a season ending after only 2 meets and they all struggled! I wished they didn't rush them through.

    Parents Broken Radius After Care

My DD had a radius ulna fracture, long arm cast for 6 weeks, short arm for 3 weeks and then splinted for another 6 weeks. Once back, only limited weight bearing to that arm for 4 more weeks and then slowly back to full gym!! My ortho told us the risk for injury is so high and didn't want to...

Parents When to start looking for new gym?

Thanks for all the great responses! The level 9's that left last year are I college, neither of them doing gymnastics in college, so I guess they didn't have the desire or "want" to excel beyond where they were when they graduated high school. As far as they gym and coaching, I would have to...

Parents When to start looking for new gym?

This question comes a bit early in my daughters gymnastics career but here is the scenario.... My DD is competing level 7 this year, first year. She loves her gym and her teammates and coaches. This gym however, has never had any gymnasts go beyond level 9. I don't know if it was the gymnasts...

    WAG Level 7 bar question

My DD said she does a "bent leg" giant...? I wouldn't think it would be allowed but her coaches said it is...??

    WAG Level 7 bar question

I guess I'll find out come first meet...[emoji15]

    WAG Level 7 bar question

Can they do a giant on the low bar? Or is that a big deduction? I ask because my DD said she has her giant on the low bar but not the high bar and her routine has her doing it on the low bar.????

    Parents Should we change gyms?

I was afraid of this answer. She is 10y, loves the sport, talks about being a Florida Gator! So that answers a lot right there, huh? The next closest gym around us is about 45 mins away but who knows where she will measure up there....it's a pretty tough gym! She loves her gym, the coaches...

    Parents Should we change gyms?

My DD started training level 7 this summer, she seems to be doing very well. My concern is that the gym she is at hasn't trained above level 9. The last girls trained and competed level 9 for more then 4 years. Could I expect my DD to do the same? Or should I look for a new gym? I'm...

    WAG Gym recommendation in Philly

I've heard that Somerton is good but if you are looking for elite they may need to travel. Something to think about.

    Parents Leg pain!

It's not like the pain from a good workout of new muscles...she only explains it as a constant aching that won't let her her relax. Reminds me of "growing pains" we would get as a kid. It's both her legs, mostly thighs.

    Parents Leg pain!

I hope someone can help! If my DD has more then a day off in between practices, she is up all night with leg pain. Yesterday was her first day back after having 4 days off ( they got a break from practices last week). It first started happening when she would be off from Saturday to...

    WAG long commutes

I give you guys credit! I have a half hour drive to my DD gym and it is a pleasure. I experienced driving over an hour and a half for my sons ice hockey and after a year, I couldn't do it anymore. My husband and I would take turns but a lot of times he couldn't get home from work in time to...

    Parents Question about levels???

Thanks to all that replied! It all makes sense now. I can see some of the girls going to level 6 and some potentially going to level 7...depending on the summer training.

    Parents Question about levels???

My DD just finished level 5 and so I would assume next season she would move to level 6. She tells me they have been working on upgrades for some time now and she finished on top at level 5 states so I don't have a question about her moving up. My question is this....she came home and was...

Parents Where do you buy your practice leos?

Plum practice wear! my DD won't wear anything else...they are super comfy, soft and last forever! Pretty reasonable prices too! They don't last long though!
