Australia, Level 8, 4 meets total this year. If she didn't qualify for the interstate meet, she would have only had 3 meets this year.
2 qualifying competitions
1 state meet
1 interstate meet as part of the State squad (2 day competition)
The most she's ever had in one year was 5 meets, I'm so...
We use toe socks, just cut the tips of the toes off. My DD loves being able to have all sorts of funky colours. Usually we find them from the sock shops in the middle of shopping centres but if you want an online option, I have also seen them for sale at Gymsports WA www.gymsportswa.com.au with...
I would send mine back now, but my state in Australia only has 43 current active cases. School went back today. As a family we are also quite low risk.
Western Australia has cancelled all comps for the rest of the year. Our level 7-10's managed to get one comp in before everything closed. With our schools open from Wednesday, I'm hopeful that sports will follow soon.
There was a girl at DD's club that did this. She competes level 10 in WAG at her club and competes DMT for another club. She's even competed internationally in DMT.
We had a very similar situation recently. We left. Others over the years had tried to talk to the coach and also the owner but nothing ever changed. A month into changing gyms and my DD is so much happier now.
We have 6. 3 lvl 8's, 1 lvl 9 and 2 lvl 10's. Some teams seem huge to me!
I know gymnastics in Australia is a lot smaller than the US but there are only about 6 lvl 10's in my state.
Current gym hold open tryouts once a year towards the end of the year and training group/level placements are determined from that. Current team members find out near the end of the season what level they will be in for the following year, no need to try out again.
The previous gym DD was at...
Strictly no videos/photos at all. Viewing is permitted for the first and last 15 mins of training only and anyone caught breaking the rules is asked to leave the viewing area/delete any footage.
I think she's amazing but I'm a bit biased. To be honest I think I'm more surprised than anybody that she was accepted and we just take it one term at a time.
Yep, this is where DD is.
It's an elite track only program, and run a bit different to a normal club. In DD's group of 8 x 6-7yo's we have had 4 new girls accepted (including DD) and 3 others leave. About 80 have tried out and not made it.
Current gym has parent meetings 4 times a year for lower levels or 2 times a year for higher levels. We find out at this meeting how our DD is progressing, anything that they may be struggling with, if they will be competing and what level they will be for that particular meet, if they are...
DD did rec for 1 hr/week for one school term when she tried out for team. She went to National level 2 training 5 hrs/week. At the end of that year she moved to IL3 then moved gyms where she continued to train and compete IL3. There is the possibility that she will compete IL5 at a comp towards...
