I think about this every year too! My daughter is in the strongest Region. ( meaning the Region that wins almost every year ).. It becomes very frustrating knowing others make it with much lower scores. I agree with the above idea, Nationals should have its own redistributed age group based on...
Just curious to see if there are colleges that tend to send out mail to lots of girls. Meaning they aren't really interested in your kid per-say, but just want them to go to camps to make money.. I know this happens, but wanted to know if there are some common ones to look out for.
OH yes for sure she was talking about NCAA, It just made me think of DP Level 10's as I am seeing more of it too. But i will say that the ones i have seen are dancy and not posey.. ha ha!
I agree, but her coaches are saying that there might be a change in the code that she will no longer score as high. She was able to make up for difficulty with her leaps and jumps. I am just curious if something has changed in the code that she would no longer be able to score higher without...
Floor is not my daughters biggest strength due to hip and ankle issues. Is this a change from last year? Just curious as she would like to just keep two passes if she can still score well. She didn't have any E passes last year and was still able to score in the 9.5 range.
So, I just saw a post with Mykayla Skinner recently stating how she hates two pass in a routine. Basically saying its gymnastics not dance. Inside Gymnastics reposted it more or less agreeing. I was reading a lot of the comments replying to that and it seems like a mixed bag or replies. I tend...
Also, there needs to be consideration on her adding it in to the routine. That also will change the dynamics of the skill. I almost feel like having it on a mat into the pit and having it out on the comp floor is two totally different skills! There is a huge comfort level doing it on to a floor...
For those of you that have been through the recruiting process, what is your best recruiting advice? My daughter will be of recruiting age next year. She has already been emailing/ sending video's as well as posting to her Instagram account. We follow...
Thank you, I have read through the threads .. all of them. I have been on Chalkbucket for at least 6 years and always take note of all the information. Its just now that information directly pertains to us! Which is nuts by the way! Where or where does the time go? I guess I am just looking for...
I have to agree with you on this one! I want to think that coaches are fully involved in their recruiting process in some form. I am sure some are fully involved and others probably not so much.. because they get top notch recruits every year..
Thank you so much for the time you took to write this out and reply. It's certainly the kind of information that i think needs to be talked about! It's such a tough road to navigate and to decode! I will have my daughter listen to the podcast as well as listen myself. I have heard texting...
YES! That has been our number 1 rule for the get go! Even so much so that she is prepared to even being on a team if the right fit doesn't come along. Sadly, but in the end gymnastics won't go on beyond her college years. Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you for this, My daughter could do a better job of adding more about her on her recruiting account. Its tough because kids don't really use Instagram as much as they do Snapchat!
So happy your daughter found her fit! I can only hope that for mine!
You are so right! We know if a few gymnasts that transferred out of schools that they absolutely thought were right and boy were they wrong. I appreciate this reminder! I do understand that it can be a cruel world!
