For level nine dismounts, are you required to do at least a full twist? Or is this just one option that fits the requirement?
Also, what would the deductions be for doing only a roundoff back tuck?
To start off, none of these things aren't really for me, but I was wondering anyways.
Is a gymnast allowed to not to a round off? So they would just do standing backhandspring x2 (or other numbers), then back tuck/layout/etc.? I understand it would be more challenging, but is it technically...
Sorry this is kind of random, but what are some turns that are Bs for beam?
Full turn with leg at horizontal?
Half wolf turn?
Full wolf turn?
This but only a full?
One and a half normal is a B, I know.
Illusions?
Half, full, outward, inward, one hand, both hands, no hands- Any of these a B...
Level 6 Beam: So could a beam routine have a back walkover, not a back handspring? What skill value is a back walkover on beam? Would this routine meet requirements- BWO, backward roll, beat jump connected to sissone, full turn, cw bt? If that doesn't fulfil, if I replaced the full turn with a...
Not sure if anybody is willing to do this but...
I would like a short and a long version of a workout that I can do at home. I have ankle weights and push up bars incase that helps.
I need some exercises that would help for better kips and press handstands. Other exercises are fine too, but I...
Today at practice our coaches were talking about the level 8 girl on our team and her progress towards level 9 & 10. After a little bit of talk the conversation changed to a gym a little bit away and how crazy good their girls were. Then one coach said that their level 3's trained 12 hr/week...
I had my third meet a while back, but didn't post about it. It was on an ice rink and was FREEZING. It wasn't so fun.

Beam: 8.9, 3rd place (fall)

Didn't do as well as I was...
I dont know why, but recently in practice I have been doing weird squat ons. I have had my squat on for years, not a problem. Now, every few bar routines a will cast to squat on, but i will overshoot it and my feet go past the bar a couple inches, but dont touch. I hold it there a second, then...
I was recently watching youtube and I stumbled upon a Level 7 floor routine with amazing music. So, I went on to find it, and narrowed it down to Batter's Box by Taps Guevara. But, I can't seem to find a version without words. Wondering if anybody can help.
The gymnast's floor routine here...
Some gyms have a lot of beams. Im wondering if you guys know any gyms with more beams than Texas Dreams. They have 17 high beams and 4 low beams.
I really dont think there are any.
Had meet number 2 today! Happy about scores, but I fell on floor, and if I hadn't, I would of won all around! Dang it! It was a far away meet, my coaches said these judges were different and scored a lot tighter. Top 6 places.
Vault: 8.65, no placement
Bars: 9.35, 2nd place
Beam: 9.2, 3rd place...
First meet done!
Bars- 9.050 4th Place
Beam- 8.700 8th Place
Floor- 9.025 6th Place
Vault- 9.000 6th Place
AA- 35.500 6th Place
Not Great, not bad either. Aiming for better beam scores.
No falls, but huge steps during front tumbling. Came home with 5 medals!
I was reading some older posts and a few (and some less old posts) mention advanced toddler classes as a pathway to team.
My question is how common are these class? And what do you even do in them? How long are theses classes? I have never heard of this before.
So to start, I do know you have to compete a skill you made up -for example, "The Biles"- at a national level for it to be considered a real "skill." But how would you do that on vault?
Let's say in a few years, when more and more people do front handspring landing on the springboard, then...
Just wondering, I thought this was interesting. How many of us gymnasts now will become parents, coaches, judges or owners? Kinda spooky to think about it really.
My coaches are relatively new to xcel. Do these meet all requirements?
Bars- Kip, cast to horizontal, back hip-circle out of cast, cast squat on, 2 taps to level 4 dismount.
Beam- Cartwheel, handstand, split jump straight jump, punch front dismount.
Floor- Leap to hitch kick, ROBHSBHS, Punch...
