    Parents Retired Gymnast... Now Wrestler

You may have seen my previous posts about my daughter. If not, she retired from gymnastics in 8th grade due to chronic backpain and decided to join cross country. She's a sophomore right now and hasn't looked back from the world of distance running. She got a stress fracture just before the...

Parents Gymnast's POV of the benefit of happiness

(I've written about this before but decided that a little recap would make the rest of the post make more sense.) It has been a little over a year since my daughter last stepped foot in the gym. She didn't leave because she was unhappy or injured, it was simply because she wanted to try new...

    Parents Wedgie Prevention

My daughter no longer does gymnastics, but she recently got a new swimsuit (Speedo) that has little silicone strips on the rear that are supposed to prevent it from riding up, and works quite well. I don't imagine it be very hard to do the same with leos. Just a thought.

    Parents Life After Gymnastics

My 14 year old, incoming 9th grader, daughter recently quit gymnastics at the end of May. She was training for her level 7 season and it was a very difficult decision. It wasn't that she didn't love it anymore, more of her just wanting to try new things, and getting rid of lagging injuries. Her...

    Parents Plum Practicewear

Does anyone have experience with their bra tops and shorts? My daughter wants a set, but I don't want to invest if they aren't worth the money. Are they comfortable and do the tops provide enough support and coverage?

Parents Switching to YMCA from Club

My daughter is wanting a more flexible, laid back, atmosphere and is no longer happy with the long hours and strict coaching. We are thinking about switching to YMCA this summer. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any guidance, perhaps? (She's Level 7/8 and considering XCEL Platinum/...

    Off Topic Rebecca's Mom Leos

Have any of you guys dealt with this company before?I've heard really nice things about this particular company and would like to buy some new leos. I went to their website and saw that they're slightly pricier than Plum. Have you guys had good experiences with this brand and what are your...

Parents To retire or not to retire...

My Level 6, 8th grade daughter has recently sparked an interest in joining marching band next year. If she does decide to join, it would require her to quit gymnastics. While XCEL is a possibility, she wouldn't be able to fully commit to both gym and band. She could either stay in gymnastics...

    Off Topic The Horse Dancer

The Horse Dancer is a movie on Netflix. One of the coaches at our gym is in it as a camp counselor. I think she only says 2 lines though. Anyways, it's about gymnastics and some of your littles might enjoy it. IMO The quality of the movie and acting is bad, but some gymnasts just like movies...

Off Topic What to do with old competition leo?

My daughter's team is getting new leos this year and now we have a $450 piece of spandex and mesh sitting in her closet. I find it pointless to just have it hang there and collect dust. What did you guys do with yours???

    Off Topic Floor Music?

We're looking gor music for my level 6 daughter that isn't very graceful or dancy. She's 13, but very tiny; only 4'2" and 55 pounds. Her current music is Russian. Any suggestians that are like a mix between techno, bolllywod, and a littlw bit dancy? She's quite the powerhouse and isn't flexible. TIA

WAG Difference between British and USAG levels?

I have an 8 year old, level 6 teammate moving to England this summer due to the military. She is planning on continuing her gymnastics after the move. What is the difference between the levels? I'm just curious.
