Oh good! That should be a fun meet. I have lost track of what teams there even are in the state. This past year has caused a void in my brain ‍♀️

We were told they only have to do one tech sequence routine to qualify. So some of our boys are only doing the vault. Did you hear otherwise??

I hope your gym attends - these guys work so hard, they deserve to compete! Is that “state” meet at your gym just you guys? I still don’t really understand how it’s all working. We are doing the one in Rochester which seems to be by far the biggest of the three.

Region 7 regionals will be at Liberty Bell (formerly Montco) the second weekend of April. Qualifying will be tougher than in past years to keep the size reasonable but I haven’t heard specific details yet. Our coach just started telling the boys details today so I’m guessing more info soon.

I’m trying to focus on how much money we will save if we only compete within NY :) I do hope we are able to at least compete statewide though since as it stands right now with having to stay within your region in NY only have one other club we can compete with.

I think one of the big things will be whether or not gyms are willing to risk hosting meets, knowing they may lose a lot of money if numbers go back up and meets can't go on. Also, how early teams have to sign up will influence willingness of parents to fork over the money. I know we typically...

Our gym is planning 6/30 because that's when our area is aiming for starting Phase 4 which is when gyms can open in NY. But there's also new guidance that says gymnastics can start in regions who are phase 3 on July 6th so we will definitely be started by then. And we just got word that the NYS...

We had a big drop-off last year (from 60 to 42) but most of the ones who left, it was somewhat predictable that they weren't in it for the long haul. Our state director said all changes (including birthdate change that was originally going to be this year) will happen next year. Even with that I haven’t heard of moving the routines being one of the changes coming next year.
