WAG Weight Gain and how to "address" it with DD

Hey, DD is level 10 senior who has put on a significant amount of weight. I am NOT saying she is fat. She is not. She is muscle. That said, her eating habits are horrible these days, which IS playing a factor. Any suggestions on how to handle this delicate subject with a teenage young...

Parents Is hiring a recruitment agency worth it?

DD is a late Level 10 in her Jr year. She has reached out and communicated with most colleges and few have responded with courtesy responses. With another one or two encouraging her to send videos and keep in touch. I just don't know if a recruitment agency would have better luck? Would it...

It sure is frustrating and challenging trying to figure all this out! Lol. I guess for my DD - she just has to keep contacting all of them....?

Parents Clueless how college stuff works...

Since most Div. 2 and 3 schools do not offer scholarships - do they have anything "else" to offer? Just wondering....

    Parents College Question

So - on the NCAA WAG Rosters/Commits spreadsheet - at the end of each year it will show (for example) 1 open or 11/12 -- what is that referring to? And....if they have a "full" list of names but still show 4 open - what does that mean? Thank you.

WAG L5 Pars Defect - Update

Well, it has been a bit since I have been on here (had issues logging on). Anyway, you may remember DD was diagnosed in January with a L5 Pars Defect (stress fracture). DD went back to the doctor on Monday and was given the all clear. Now, her physical therapist hasn't - he still says no hard...

WAG Recovery from L5 Stress fracture?

Hey. We are 16 weeks post diagnosis of a L5 Pars Defect (stress fracture). DD is still doing PT and was just approved to start doing tap swings. But no impact or back extension stuff. She experienced pain.... Any idea what recovery will feel like for her? The stress fracture itself should...

WAG So - who has recovered from a stress fracture in their back?

She has not done anything --- NOTHING --- since January 17th, although I believe the actual date of injury was January 9th. The MRI was done on January 18th which lead to the diagnosis of L5 Pars defect. Due to the continued pain (which hasn't decreased at all) we went to another doctor who...

WAG So - who has recovered from a stress fracture in their back?

Okay - so bone/ct scan showed it pretty active and acute - spondylolysis without spondylolisthesis. So - I am gathering it is really nothing "more" than the original diagnosis of a stress fracture. They will brace it and start physical therapy....out for another 6 weeks though.... Damn this...

WAG So - who has recovered from a stress fracture in their back?

So - here is my concern.... The sports ortho says L5 Pars Defect - the pediatric ortho not convinced of that - feels it may be degenerative disk damage --- which is why we are getting a bone scan tomorrow. What do we do if the two have difference of opinions/diagnosis??

WAG So - who has recovered from a stress fracture in their back?

Well, the first sport ortho ordered a complete "shut-down" for two weeks. Went back for the two week follow up and she was still in the same amount of pain - so he said another two weeks of no activity - she could stretch but is to stop if it hurt. EVERYTHING hurts. So - we are on the 4/5th...

WAG So - who has recovered from a stress fracture in their back?

Yes - the sports ortho did the MRI and said it was L5 Pars Defect = stress fracture. Well, she is still in the same amount of pain (after 28 days of no gymnastics and no activity) so we went to a pediatric ortho who isn't 100% sure about the stress fracture but did mention possible degenerative...

WAG So - who has recovered from a stress fracture in their back?

Well, we went for the appt with the pediatric ortho - and he said - basically the same thing the first doctor said - but..... he is going to do a bone scan to see if there is something more to it. He also mentioned the possibility of degenerative disk, which scares me....but he said the scan...
