What causes the piking in side aerial? It looks great but is causing the landing to be difficult (second leg sort of swings behind first)and has to be connect to a front handspring for her series. I’ve tried to have her keep hips lifted and under body instead of piked but it’s not transferring...

So my DD is a level 9 gymnast. She’s really struggled and had a lot of mental blocks about going backwards and finally gets to change her floor stuff to front twisting. She just told me that she’s recently gotten a block doing front twisting now. We were at a really bad gym with...
I feel you lol! It’s such a rollercoaster. So much that I’m wondering if I’m doing the right thing half the time but when I look at what most girls her age are doing I’m like….ok this is best lol. My 9th grader is a level 9 who just went back to school after homeschooling. I was worried about...
For 3 of the girls it’s been that bail or pak on bars. The others I don’t remember but I do know it’s always a fear to do the skill. Yeah I’ve worried about their ability to coach those harder skills. We have 2 level 9’s but haven’t had a 10 for 7 years since this coach started. It’s always...
That makes sense. And these girls I’m talking about are some of the most talented in the gym. They have some level 10 skills but because of one skill they still compete 8.
Having 3 events completely ready at this point with the 4th very near sounds a lot more reasonabl. And yeah level 9 and 10 I know can be repeated multiple times but the girls I’m talking about are nearly there but aren’t given the chance due to one skill or he says consistency? We also haven’t...
I’m starting to think my gym has too many red flags for my daughter to stay any longer. There are 4 girls that have had to compete the same level for 4 years. Two were level 7’s and 2 were level 8’s. It’s always for something really small. Typically these girls have all skills in 3 events and...
My daughter has a similar issue….doesn’t like adding the roundoff and doing “running” tumbling. She’s always said she feels lost too so curious to see some answers…we’ve not figured out what causes it yet
Oh that makes sense! They’ve been having them try it in practice too but it’s so much harder for them to land it. I thought it was more of a trying to get the girls to vault higher but safety issue makes sense. Thanks!
During my dd’s last level 8 meet, the coach decided to add an 8 incher to the vault landing. my daughter landed on her face and the rest didn’t do great either. why would the coach do that and is this common? Thanks!
That’s exactly what we did with hers! First one they had to use pins, but second knee we caught a little earlier so they just did the drilling. Thank you for the feedback❤️
So my 14 year old daughter just had to have her second surgery for Osteochondrital Dicessans. First it was in her left, then it was her right knee. The surgeon acts like this is one in a million and when I ask the root cause, she (or anyone) doesn’t know exactly. My question is..has anyone had...
