Hello, L8 DD had a mental block on beam since L5 ( after a seing a upper level gymnast falling on beam and having a concussion). 4 years of meets with at least 1 fall on beam ( up to 3) and my DD looking completely terrified on that beam ( painfull to watch). Scores ranging in the 6-7 range...

    Parents Level 7 Vault Scores

My dd had trouble with L7 vault two years ago and this year ( little gym and no competition in 2021 related to covid) had a blast with a 9.550 at her first meet in two years (tchuk timer). Had a grow spurt ( still small). She is a powerfull gymnast with a not so good form.

    Parents Canadian gymnastics

Hi, We are in Quebec province so it may be a bit different. Here we have regional gymnastique ( seems a bit like excel, less hour) and provincial gymnastique ( JO 4-8) and after that national gymnastic ( JO 9-10). We seems to have less competition ( from 2 to 4 each year). Hours seems a little...

Parents Are your kids able to compete this season?

Quitte different here in Canada (Québec). No meets and no practices ( gym mostly reclosed in October, my gymnast had the chance to go til Christmas.

Parents What do you consider to be a good score?

From my dd expérience, scores over 9 you usually place and go to the équivalent of states ( provincials). Last year (L7), scores tend to be higher on floor, and lower on bars and vault. Beam had the lowest and highest scores ( depend on the fallsssssss)

Parents Mental recovery from bad meets

I could have written your message last year .... My dd went from having a spectacular L5 season to being last on her first L7 meet..... with multiple falls on beam. The pain lasted for a good 48 hours and thenn she went over it. But I too had to get over it, and that wasn’t that easy.... it...

    WAG More 6's, less 5's

L5 is not popular here also. There was 5 girls in the age groupe of my daughter and a lot of L4. She did L5 and and L7 ( Had a rough Time With bars and vault In L7). Most of her team mate did L4 and they L6.

Parents Why are you still in gymnastics?

My daughter just love it, never have enough. When I enrolled her at 5 it was just to keep her busy and let her have some challenges. We chose gymnastic because the club is 5 min from ouf house. She is a shy kid and it gave her a lot of confidence.

    WAG Fall season

I’ve a different perspective; I’m a Health employee and I’ve Been mandated ( as an obligation) to go help in elderly facility, Where the death toll is heavy. I’ m not able to think about gym in that context, and neither is m’y gymnist. I think gym should open after school re-open, and...
