Parents Changing gyms right before meet season?

We actually just considered this. What I found out was that yes, she can switch. Know if you even walk in another gym, they might have to tell your old gym, and your girl can be "fired" from that team. Even if not accepted to the other team. That said, I contacted a known coach that moved...

Parents 7 year old wants to quit - Looking for advice

We have gone through this a few times. First, about where you are. If I paid for the season, we're going to try to make it. However, if she hates it, then figure out why, and if it's reasonable, then let her. Second, it was a hip injury. She almost didn't come back. Shy cause of a scar and had...

Parents Just Made Team, Any Advice or Tips?

I would say as a tip, it's good to get in well with the booster club as soon as you can. I didn't and I signed in to start a post about booster club moms who have lost their minds! I didn't get in with them, and now we're upper levels, and they are so very nasty! It's incredible! If I knew any...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

Thank you all for your stories, suggestions, support and ideas. We have decided to make the move. I went in disguise to the other gym, and it was a totally different place. Supportive and all the kids seemed happy. We start next week! We made the decision together. I did use another mom to...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

To give an honest answer, and to risk having the rest of you beat me with noodles, yes. If we could not get into another gym, I would stay. That is the honest truth, and If that's a bad mom, then that's me. I'm listening to you guys though, so I'm trying to be the good mom, but still let her...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

The daughter does not want to end her gym career. There is competition to other gyms, but I would say that they would take her based on scores. When I'm watching from the parent area, it's better and the coach is more on guard, and appropriate. I try not to butt in, but I do give the eye...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

Yes. One has moved already. She got fired before she could tender the resignation. Someone found out that she had visited. Another has also visited but has not been ratted out yet. I have the pricing information - except for the quota pricing. I'm working it without visiting. And another parent...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

I feel the same, but then my daughter says it's ok, not to say anything, and that they all band up on the coach and it makes it better. I have told her its not ok and the other parents have told theirs and mine the same. They all love the sport, but I have to have another gym home before quitting.

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

We can't leave until there is a new place to go to. She is not recreational. She puts in 20 hours a week here, and with driving it's much more. We need a new home before we can quit. More parents want to now that the season is over, so now there may be competition to get into the other gyms.

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

We know its not acceptable. The whole team puts up with it, and the other coaches know. I don't know why they don't let him go. I don't understand. I want to secure another gym before breaking with the current one. We can't be left without one. Daughter is very serious into this, going 20 hours...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

Ive heard that a few times today. Word gets out. It's not cool!! We should be able to look. I never heard of this kind of policy!! These are kids. I don't know how i'm going to do this, but all the suggestions are good. I have to lie though. But I can do that.

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

It Thank you. Good ideas. It is further. And she would leave her friend group that has been in place for many years. Cost is similar, coach is better. Gym is lesser known, but weighing options. I don't want to lose the spot here just for looking. I didn't know that was a thing until today! I...

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

She is on team. We are in good standing. We are not happy with an emotionally abusive coach. The gym has not listened to complaints. The coach doesn't do it to all teams, just ours.

Parents Considering a Gym change - The Rules?

Please help me navigate the rules for changing gyms. Not that we are changing gyms, but there have been some not so nice things happen at our gym, and I would like to look at others. I learned today that by going and looking at another gym, we can lose the opportunity to stay with our gym. So if...

WAG Underwear for under her competition Leo.

Mine - no undies. The whole team - no undies. These are 12 YO's and up. Last year we did glue her leo to her bum for competitions so no wedgies. This year we didn't need to because the moves progressed and no need. I will say, I was at a meet this weekend and noticed a few with undies. I...
