    Parents Finding the balance

All 3 of my daughters are gymnasts and my middle DD is 9 years old and does 24 hours, as a level 7, training 8. I can't imagine her loving anything as much as gym. Her best friends are at gym, as are her sisters, and she really loves it. She is the type that has a lot of energy and needs to...

Parents First level 9 meet concerns

Good luck to your DD. For us it's one level 9 (12), one level 7 (9) and one level 3, (6) all. competiting their first seasonal meet in 3 weeks, such an emotional roller coaster.

That is really green advice! Certainly will make for building confidence as opposed to potentially breaking it.

Parents First level 9 meet concerns

Wow! Thanks for the insight. This is really helpful to know as she doesn't have a great idea about what to expect. She and her coach were considering having her scratch bars, but she has really nice form and looks great on bars, with the skills that she has so they decided to have her go for it...

Parents First level 9 meet concerns

Hi, my 12 year old dd will be competing her first level 9 meet in a few weeks. She has strong skills, and is very much of a perfectionist. She works every night after practice for example on perfecting her leaps, points, split jumps at home so that she doesn't receive any deduction on those...

    WAG Blinds for level 9

Hi, my daughter is training level 9 and working on blinds, but not to front giants, rather to switching direction and doing back giants, so like 2 blinds and 3 giants in a row. She needs it in 2 months from now and currently does it with a spot on high bar. Is there a chance she could be...

WAG Tell me about the underdogs

My DD started team at 7.5 years old. The coach barely accepted her on the team and even told me that she is accepting her only because her younger sister made team and she felt obligated to accept her as well. They told her she wasn't very talented. Boy did she prove them wrong. She is now 11...

Parents Need Advise are we wasting our time with a Gym

I agree. After 8 years in competitive gymnastics I would expect the gym to progress the gymnasts to a higher level at this point. However as the others mentioned, if she is content and happy with the progress, it is a different story entirely.

    Parents Struggling Gymnast

My daughter came almost last place at every meet when she was 7. When she was 9 something clicked and now she is 11 years old training level 9 and placing in the top 4 at most meets. Every kid has a different path to success.
