I always wonder when this topic comes up. Are the low scores because it's a really young gymnast being fast tracked through the lower levels or is it really a average aged gymnast going through the levels a year at a time all of a sudden scoring better at the higher levels.
This post is a little confusing. You refer to head coach and main coach. As far as the complaints about keeping costs down for xcel that actually seems to be a good thing. The derogatory comments on the other hand, are probably not appropriate.
I am not a coach, but a parent of a child that is very challenging due to ADHD. They usually have me go out to the class with him. I'm not there to instruct but just to keep him on task at his station after instructions have been provided. I try to sit back and only engage when I see it's...
This is going to vary greatly depending on where you live and what you personally prioritize. I'm fortunate to live where there are really good public schools this model for a gym would not be sustainable.
At least the article I read, I thought the problem they are trying to solve is how different states have different NIL laws that in turn harms or helps schools in certain states. And the ultimate goal is federal regulations for a level playing field. This was just one alternative thrown out...
At our gym privates are limited to mostly when school is closed. The gym offers up the time slots and you can sign up. Before I even saw the announcement and could open the sign up sheet the same 4 or so people signed up for all the available slots . For the most part I don't think they are...
My now 8 year old is naturally strong and not naturally flexible. We needed to get her good leg split for level 3 so over the summer we tried lots of things. First we did a private with her coach to have her give her specific stretches, we went home took pictures and made a poster board so she...
Ohhh no hair and me are not friends. Just simple braids secured with those clear little hair ties. Then I wrap one around secure with corkscrew pin. The second one wrapped in the other direction. Then third one same direction as the first.
My daughter has medium length thick hair. I put her hair into a high pony then split into 3 sections then braid. Each one is wrapped around then secured with one corkscrew pin, so I've only ever used 3 corkscrews no additional pins. I put a pony tail holder and scrunchy around the final bun...
Yes, these are amazing. I was really worried about doing my daughter's hair as I am useless at anything hair related. If I don't put it in at the correct angle it hurts a little bit then I just have to take out and put back in. Same way you take out a screw, put in twisting to the right, take...
The comments aren't going the way you wanted so your energy here is to get defensive, ignore advise, and dig your heels in. I can't imagine the energy you put off IRL.
But Poop shows are entertaining! Anyway the point I am trying to make is if a female athlete that by the time she will retire will have over 200 caps for her country, pretty decent stats for goals and assists and still gets dismissed and disparaged because let's say "things". What do you really...
Then directly related to the topic, people in general don't understand or care about sports accomplishments. Just look at the vile comments about Megan Rapinoe's retirement from soccer. And tangentially allot of those comments relate to my initial one .
It seems lately there have been multiple threads with the theme of scoring discrepancies. Does anyone think in the future it could be done with multiple camera angles and some fancy algorithms? Could humans ever be replaced by computers for gymnastics scoring?
Can the generous donor set up a non-profit outside of the gym and have athletes families request scholarships? The soccer league we are in everytime you register for a session you can add money towards their scholarship fund, which in turn families apply for, but they do have to provide...
