Definitely can’t skip grades 4-2 in the compulsory path, from last year though i think previously they allowed you to join the route at compulsory 3. I think for all the route gymnasts can join at grade 4 e.g without doing the club grades but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Both the national and regional paths start off with gymnastics competing club grades ( grade 6 from the year they turn 8 and club 5 the year they turn 9) From the year they turn 10 they can either do the national 4 or regional grade 4. Each year they can do a national or regional grade till...

But gymnasts don’t need to keep to one route if they start on the compulsory route and pass compulsory 4 but find they aren’t ready for compulsory 3 the following year they can move to the national route instead ( and swap back in later years when they have the compulsory 3 skills if they wants to.

It depends on the route gymnasts take. If they are on the compulsory route( probably considered the most challenging due to the speed gymnasts have to get new skills) - they could technically start at compulsory grade 4 the year they turn 9 and then process to compulsory grade 3 and then 2 the...

At the grade competitions the competitions are all required to have the same components, and bars and range and conditioning have set routines which all gymnasts at that grade perform. The main point of the grade competitions aren’t really to get a medal, but instead pass the grade with a good...

https://www.british-gymnastics.org/west-midlands/document-download/disciplines-3/womens/12540-british-club-grades/file This is maybe a bit out of date but goes some way to explain how the scoring works at the national and regional grades. Gymnasts generally get an E score out of ten and the...

Did your coach give any guidance? When my wee one was learning this her coaches told us to support her on the door bar holding her feet and taking some of the weight from her. Over time take less of her weight and she does more herself.

    WAG Grade 6 bar routine

As far as I understand for grades there 2 elements to the score. They start with 10 for the execution score and then for most of the grade 6 routines there are 8 elements each worth 0.5 each. So potentially out of 14. I think there’s 0.5 for doing the circle up but also 0.5 for circling back...
