Shes currently doing 5.5 hours. I agree 9 is a lot but they slowly increase their hours. I will definitely have to talk to the coaches but I'm sure they will be understanding that she may leave early somedays. She's the youngest in her class currently.
Not 100% sure. Level 2 is 6-9 but she is also doing TOPS in addition to her current class. Idk how TOPS is added to level 2 or if they will continue her TOPS training
Thanks everyone. This is making me feel a little better. Well see if she even gets invited but i am planning on letting her try and seeing how she does.
My daughter will find out if she made level 2 team soon. The practices are 3 hours long. If anyone had a kindergarten child with 3 hour practices, how did they do? She is currently doing 2 hours but that additional hour scares me although she says its fine.
I'm in WA also but it is still doing it. I will say its not on every device. I'm my android it only works on incognito but in my iPhone it works on the normal browser
I don't think there's a typical schedule. It all depends on the gym honestly. It is typically for non rec class times to change though.
If you don't think this is the best thing for your family i would move her back to rec classes before she realizes what team actually is. The preteam at my...
My daughter started preteam a month before turning 4 and she was definitely the worse one in the group. It was 3 1.5 hour class a week and i seriously wondered why they placed her in this class.
Not even a year later she is doing great. Doing one 1.5 hour tops class and 2, 2 hour preteam...
this will be my daughter, who is also 4 (5 in June), second summer on preteam. At her previous gym preteam practiced earlier in the day. Around 2 or 3. I'm not sure what it will look like this summer since she is at a new gym and i won't find out if she moves up to level 2 team until may. I'm...
It definitely depends on the gym in regards to age. I would speak to the front desk to make sure team is even a possibility. I would also look into other gyms in the area, possiblywith an xcel program. I really dont think privates are needed to make team either, especially if you arent sure she...
Ok, weird question.
I am constantly tasked by my daughter to play gymnastics at home. I'm the teacher, she and her sisters are the students lol. She's 4 so it's cute. BUT, I'm doing it wrong apparently. What are some good things to do at home that won't mess up her coaches teaching form?
Im...
just wanted to update. We ended up changing gyms shortly after this and it was the right choice for my daughter. Some things weren’t sitting right with me, like watch a girl swing the rope while my child was 10ft in the air.
She is doing great at this new gym. Still doing strength training but...
This maybe more of a question for coaches.
When there are large age gaps, do the coaches take that into consideration when teaching new skills and drills? Or do you think they expected all of the girls to get it and remember it at the same pace?
My daughter is 4 and there are girls as old as...
I agree. It definitely depends on the gym. I think 8 maybe the oldest my daughter's gym take for preteam and only for xcel. For reference, my daughter is 4 on preteam. At 8 in her previous gym she could tryout for xcel.
It does! My daughter was 3 at the time and the coach didnt even introduce herself to me. She started a new gym at 4 and before her first class one coach emailed me explaining everything (preteam) and her TOPs coach spoke and updated me after class. It was such a contrast but very much...
Listening now. Wish i would have heard this sooner. I stayed at a gym where my daughter's coaches never even said hello to me and was never updated on how she was doing. Even though she was there 3 days a week.
