Parents 3 hour practices for 5 year old

My daughter will find out if she made level 2 team soon. The practices are 3 hours long. If anyone had a kindergarten child with 3 hour practices, how did they do? She is currently doing 2 hours but that additional hour scares me although she says its fine.

    Parents Gymnastics at home

Ok, weird question. I am constantly tasked by my daughter to play gymnastics at home. I'm the teacher, she and her sisters are the students lol. She's 4 so it's cute. BUT, I'm doing it wrong apparently. What are some good things to do at home that won't mess up her coaches teaching form? Im...

Parents Age gap in training group

This maybe more of a question for coaches. When there are large age gaps, do the coaches take that into consideration when teaching new skills and drills? Or do you think they expected all of the girls to get it and remember it at the same pace? My daughter is 4 and there are girls as old as...

Parents Gym choice for little kids

How important are the first few years of gymnastics? If you notice preteam and level 3/4 are struggling would you try out a different gym for your preteam child? Not sure if it matters this early

    Parents Coaches were right

Lol but seriously. My daughter joined preteam at 3, almost 4. Everyone else was 5 and 6. There was a CLEAR difference in skill level. Idk why they thought this was a good fit for her. She loved it so we stayed. Well, 4 months later, she looks great. The skill level different is much smaller and...

    WAG HOPES

I'm just curious about this. Not related to my daughter. So I saw somewhere about an 8 year old, level 7/8 training 30 years a week at a gym near me. She is TOPS and wants to be HOPES then elite. She is currently at an elite gym with great athletes. Obviously, this is pretty young and I'm...

    Parents Level 4, 20 hours a week

I'll start this off with, I'm just a preteam mom that knows nothing. Isn't 20 hours a week a little much for level 4? Level 3 practices 12 hours. Is that normal? Would you look for a gym with less hours for your preteam child?

    WAG TOPs/preteam

My daughter is starting the TOPs/preteam class at her gym. She's a newly turned 4 year old, 4.5 hours a week. For those that are pasted this stage, what should I expect out of this class? Her gym had TOPs national team members as recent as 2021. When I asked what this class was I was told its...

    Parents Xcel bronze

Just curious and not for my child. When does the child's 5th bday need to be to compete in xcel bronze next season?

    Parents New gym mom

So SUPER new mom. My daughter is 3 and ABSOLUTELY loves gymnastics. She started about 6 months ago but talked about it for months before that. I was waiting for her to be old enough, although i still started her a little early. Here's the thing, her coach recommended moving her to an advanced...
